Yup this is stupid. HAWK’s making ARM shots on front line SPAA’s impossible. And I still have not even tried US against the OSA’s.

Just take the HAWK batteries out early? The HAWKs are incredibly easy to kill compared to the Buk batteries. I usually kill the HAWK battery on the flank I’m working during my first sortie
Before the update, an air kill gave you 135 sp, now it gives you 65 sp. [From what I’ve heard]
Combined with the new tactical nuke sp increase, it takes 10 kills to get 650 sp (big tactical nuke is 600)
Before, getting 10 kills would get you a bit more than half of the sp you need for the game ending nuke (1350 out of 2500)
And now, if you intercepted while carrying the 600sp nuke (which isn’t hard with the insane anti air), and have to grind it back again from the start, you’ll need another 10 kills, totalling 20 kills which would be more than enough points for the 2500sp nuke before the update.

I only need 4k points but is just imposible with OSAs killing me seeing trough trees and mountains even worse with people destroying the airfields that I use for bomb targets
Just here to complain again that this event would have benefited from the complete removal of Flakrad and OSA from Day 1, and the event has been ruined due to the lack of this.
I think the game is now more balanced between air combat players and ground attack/SEAD players. The SPAA is as oppressive as ever, but can still be taken care of by planning the approach on the map. Ironically using ARMs/unguided rockets for the regular osa/roland’s might be better, because nuking the depots makes them respawn everything while just taking down the spaa leaves them without air cover.
Increasing the distance between airfields just slowed down the gameplay and made non supersonic aircraft that less desirable. I think every player would prefer If all 3 forward airfields were moved a bit closer to speed up the start of the game, and that the depots took a LOT longer to rebuild themselves after being nuked so that you can get actual air combat without being pressured by osa/roland in the later stages of the game - if you made the nukes more expensive, might as well make them more worth it…
If buk fires missile without radar ping (which is common situation at coast) you are dead in most cases. It doesnt ping rwr and it ignores notch and chaff, both strats work if radar pings you
