You are probably talking about dropping mini nukes on bases and npc columns, and not actual cas gameplay.
My small take, replace the A-7E with an F-111F that can carry 4x 9Ls and the 30kt nuke. At the bare minimum give the 30kt F-4E loadout some drop tanks. Getting to those back bases and returning home on a single tank is a stretch for the Phantom.

Before this event ends, we plan to make a number of additional tweaks and fixes to the mission itself and to the AI (especially the air defense systems).
good cuz so far the rolands and osas are better in the hands of ai than real players since the radar actually fucks up at low alt in the hands of the player but the roland and osa will just keep watching you with the magic evil ass eye ball it was givin fucking nerf these and this mode would actually be extremely fun (even tho non of you at gaijin know what that words means but thats a matter of another post)
on the topic of the aas them just at 4kms not having a smoke trail of missile diamond makes trying to hit these near impossible from a gameplay perspective (if you want realism go play dcs before you replay to this) both of these should be priority renders before anything else especially over the long range aas that are constantly shoot at you and do little to nothing if you have half a brain to hug the deck
We’ve seen quite a few sad posts, and even videos claiming that this mode is temporary and will be removed after the event ends, with calls to keep it in the game permanently, so I decided to share a bit about our plans and thoughts on this.
can you really blame any of us? after 9 years of playing this game modes that should have stayed as fun alt modes were removed so of course we are going to assume this will be removed even tho its fun as hell as broken and jank as it is, all us players ask is dont completely GUT the rp and sl rewards when it does come around OR IT WILL DIE BVVD. listen to me carefully IF YOU GIMP REWARDS THIS MODE WILL DIE WHEN RE-RELEASED!
aside from my irritation if this message isnt immediately sent to the shadow realm like all criticism posts are excuse my swearing and frustration at the start this mode has been one of the be it unbalanced as fuck but very fun and something actually interesting ive seein in about 6 years
It’s a gamemode that tests upcoming features for modern jets in game, so of course it’s only going to be available to high tier jets lmao. Expecting this gamemode for lower BR planes, especially props, is hilariously delusional.
That is a lot of words for saying you suck, most of the stuff at that BR is having the right keybinds, maybe 2-3 5 minute video tutorials and just straight up common sense.
Yeah I’m fine with the SPAA being oppressive, it just needs to be worth it for you to WANT to actively hunt them. When you hop into a SEAD plane you are committing a large chunk of time just to take out 1 or MAYBE 2 SPAA. When you spend 10-15 minutes just to take out 1-2 SPAA IF those missiles even make it in the first place your reward is but a trickle of lions & RP. Meanwhile you COULD have just joined the furball and gotten 2-3 air kills in the same span of time your little miserable SEAD run took. Its simply not worth running CAS/SEAD with such a little reward.
The first day was really fun because people didn’t really know the reward structure and you did actually see a lot of CAS and SEAD being done which was fun. I think there were even more CAS/SEAD planes than fighters the first day because of that lack of knowledge. Map pace was great, the matches felt really engaging and fun. If they actually pumped the rewards of taking out the convoys, depots and SPAA it would be really good for the health of the mode. A lot of people have been praying for meaningful CAS gameplay and the possibility is absolutely there, its painful how close it is to being realized.
Its simple, good rewards for CAS players leads to more vulnerable CAS flying around for fighter players to intercept. It works very well in Nuclear Option, you can get tons of points taking out ground targets but you are at the mercy of being intercepted. A good CAS player in NO can rake in tons of points, a bad CAS player is food for good interceptor players.
Starter aircraft idea from NO works decently well with how its implemented ingame. I think it would definitely be worth Gaijin toying with the Idea in a future test. Everyone starting the match at a level playing field works quite well, it would solve the issue of poor F4 Phantom players being slaughtered by the vastly superior R-27ER slinging Mig-29’s and Mig-23’s murdered by Aim-9M slinging F-15A’s.
I don’t know if this has been asked already but why does USA get large and small nukes for the F4 but the USSR Mig23 only has the small nuke.

The Osa and BMP-1 have sights that are hard to believe, at this point I feel like I’m playing CS2.
Su24 has 30kt nuke. What is actually unbalanced is fact that us gets phantom e with radar which doesnt work most of time while mig23mld has mti to be able to use sarh on average combat altitudes which are low due to aa spam. F4j could be better candidate for fighter slot, maybe with some loadout changes to be on par with mig23mld. Like sparrow reduction to 2 and change from 9g to 9l. Phantom e would stay as su24m analog or get replaced by f111f.
I dont know if anyone else finds this to be am issue, but there are always around 400 US players in queue and 0 USSR, making it very difficult to find a game. So i do my Tu95 task easily, and B52 is impossible.
Do you think something can be done aboht this if so, how can more players be encouraged to play USSR?
They already split the queue and removed the iranian f14. It probably does not help that the b52 is going to be a more popular prize.
Maybe they could add something to the russian line up but im not sure it would help enough considering how lopsided it is right now.
Given positive reception of Nuclear Thunder, is there possibility of enabling Air Realistic Enduring Confrontation, akin to Naval one in Simulator/Event tabs as “stopgap” solution, which then would be expanded in direction towards Nuclear Thunder as technology and game mechanics mature?
Granted, there’s question of Battle Ratings, but that may or may not be solved by repeating Air Sim approach of multiple lobbies at various BRs, rotating every two days.

Im wondering why in conditions of maximum combat readiness spaa keeps radar off? I know bots can guide missile without radar but logically in such conditions where there is constant risk of something (with hydrogen gifts) going through my defenses keeping radar on would be sane idea. At least when first line units get info from buk or s300 radars and go into 15-20km zone. This would make arm less painful to use.
Other thing I would change is moving bots behavior. It makes no sense osa can engage jets while moving to position. I have seen certain irl videos and not a single time sam like tor engaged target while moving with undeployed radar. Moving with radar off should be their vulnerability period. Please let it reach position and only then fire.
