The event is great but my one complaint is that the US team need F4J instead of F4E. The radar on the F4E is dog shit to say the least, it wont lock anything flying under 1km altitude (which is every body). It’s great that they gave it aim9L but it simply isnt enough. Aim9L is also bad when you are facing r60m that just smack F4E during head-on under ~1.5km
Mig23MLD is just way better and it’s not even a fair fight to the F4E.
F4J is the same plane as F4E but atleast the damn radar works.

Yes they are great for depots but I prefer the 30kt to take out the airfields
Subsonic platforms are worthless in this mode imo

Kinda a problem when several of the US CAS platforms (without going 12.0+) are subsonic while the Russian platforms are supersonic.

It has 9Ls that’s all you need for the event. Stop locking with radar it sucks if you’re not behind them.

That’s not just the OSA. All saclos SAMs can shoot on the move because the war thunder ground AI are just built different apparently

For solo games 30kt is better but with one friend or two, 5kt can also do wonders while being cheap

It is also important to know that if there are multiple saclos spaa in the area it is harder to kill them so you will need to launch 2 agm65 at each target pretty much

My problem is them not having their radar locks affected by chaff or foliage. The only way to defeat the lock is to put terrain in the way.
For me the problem is the fuel. I can nuke the furthest bases away with the 35kt in Russia and make it back but with US you better have fuel awareness or you’re done.

That’s because they are saclos so they don’t rely on radar it’s just there to target and not guide the missile the issue is that the AI is aim bot
Do you think I don’t already do this? They still intercept them and usually only 1 of the 6 connects.
