Do people genuinely struggle to survive in the bombers?
I’ve gotten a nuke on both sides and using periodic countermeasures is enough to not die to patriot and s300, but I’ve seen people complain about them on every platform known to man
They are. But somehow half the russian team that has never flown a jet in game dying to them all match long and feeding spawn points like crazy didnt get your memo. Can you somehow let those 1000s of players know to not lose the entire match by dying to phoenixes and fakours 50 times?
It also doesnt help that the russian rwrs arent exactly the best and adding to that your rwr is cluttered in this gamemode screaming on top of its lungs from 4 to 5 threats scans, locks and whatnot from 4 different directions at all times. Easy to understand why lvl 10 players then would get a bit overwhelmed? Skill issue, sure. But without those really long range standoff fox 3s it would be a bit more user friendly for our newly baked jet-pilot brothers and sisters that jumped into the pilots seat of a jet the first time to have some fun in this mode dont you think?
Its nice that long time players (like you and me i assume) that have top tier in multiple nations can benefit from this and farm the event, rp and sl from them, sure, rly nice, thanks snail. But is it really necessary to offset it even more by allowing those players that already have more experience to also bring jets of more than 1.0 BR higher?
I was playing it last night and in the TU-95M the patriot shot me down. What’s the max range of the patiot, and do I have to go defensive?
You just have to spam chaff and pray until you reach target. I dont know exact range of patriot but I can tell it has enough range. S300, patriot counterpart, shot me down right when I got into enemy half of map.
You fly straight to the main airfield, no defensive or ntohing, your ECM works as it should if u just fly level, but periodic countermeasures helps quite a bit too against jets trying to intercept you
They should give priority to US players who have completed the soviet part. That way the lobbies fill up.

The yak 141 is pretty fun to use. I guess they dont like it because it is limited to 4 missiles.

No issue with jets trying to intercept, only shot down by the PATRIOT, a did a slight dive though. I was racing 3 B-52H’s to our main airfield.
I’ve seen some rubbish like the reason so many USA players are queuing up is because the B-52 is such an iconic plane. Just rubbish. Tu-95 is an iconic plane with a long history, also. Heck, from the games I’ve queued up for, much of the USA players are flying in an iconic event vehicle that is suited for this event (F-14I).

Would play ussr if exp would go into tree of my choice. Currently I dont have any ussr jets beside su25bm so all exp goes through huge penalty to some random prop. In US case I can at least grind 7 rank jets
This mode is so painful, it’s really difficult for low tier players to play well even after watching tutorials. And us low tier players then get punished for trying to learn with large SL deductions when we die.
Honestly, I feel like Gaijin should just make it free respawn since it’s just an April Fools event so players should be able to play without worrying about SLs. :/

I really like the concept. It’s fast-paced, fitting, feels genuinely like a nuclear escalation scenario even if it’s only an April Fool’s event. It’s as close as we’ve got to RB EC to my knowledge. Good selection of ground targets, static and mobile and guarded by a variety of SPAA, takes effort to avoid dying to them which is a breath of fresh air.
Unfortunately the event is completely unbalanced and pretty much unplayable for people that don’t have top-tier aircraft for the two nations. The base aircraft suck and are SP/SL pinatas for those that have their own(F-15, F-18 lmao). On another note, sweaty players aren’t even bothering with ground targets - just using it as pitbull dogfight simulator. There’s no ground target defense, just people strafe camping airfield spawns and shooting you down with a missile before you have enough airspeed to pull a maneuver.
I have no idea how long this will stay around as I usually don’t bother with the april fool’s events, but if it’s here to stay for a while I really hope they restrict the event to provided aircraft only. As it stands it’s unplayable for those without USA/USSR top tier.
Gaijin really did a great job this aprils fools event, I would even consider it better than Warfare 2077 or the infantry april fools.
Its not only fun, but they also made the tasks easy to complete so the people that have a 48 hour weak job can actually obtain these 2 iconic vehicles!!!
Although I would make some observations, and that would be having vehicles fixed to use, because a player that does not have US or USSR air TT researched (like me) have a huge disadvantage against players that brings their own planes like Mig-29, Hornet, F-14 IRIAF, etc; which also have way better armament and radar than the free ones (like fakours, IRCM missiles, etc).

i agree that being able to respawn makes air RB much more enjoieable and the event being reasonable to grind is good but the event is near unplayable for me as aussie servers are shit and the fact that most people are stuck with shity planes while others can bring top tire fighters and seal club is anoying

Yeah I want the bombers but I won’t be getting them because I cannot be bothered to play the mode where I just get anihilated for not having high tier US or soviet planes. It just is not a fair mode while all the previous april fools modes had no such barrier for entry.

Yeah it’s just top tier planes hunting stock ones, not to mention powerful spaa, regular event are far better than this mess

Tbf I don’t think the free jets are stock but it’s still 13.0 planes killing 11.0 ones whoch is unfair as hell since we already know 13.0 is compressed to hell and back.
