Nuclear Escalation - Summer Development update from BVV_d

Please make AI ships less survivable. They should not be able to repair like a player would. 1 or 2 hits from an anti ship missiles cussing big holes and severe damage should be enough for it to sink or be counted as target destroyed.

On a side note please review the ASM-2 flight path as it tends to miss a lot and then circle around, or keeps hitting mast or guns, unlike ASM-1 which hits and in better areas.

They’re really not doing good at proving this isn’t just yank/ruski catered.

Will the Korean War era also be considered in the future?

Would love to reproduce air battles between Sabres and MiG-15s. This era would bring more iconic super-strategic bombers like the B-36 Peacemaker.

Yeah, this is 80% of the issue imo.

Also goes beyond just ASMs, but all weapons.

Or if they must repair, it needs a significant delay. I discussed this with a peer who’s currently going through damage control revision, and most of these missiles would be quite problematic to the crew involved but survivable, with damage control at least keeping the vessel upright. So repairs could be fine, but ideally a struck vessel would retreat from the front before anything depicting repairs occurred.

)Tells us that JSOW will be a stealth cruise missile and this will be configured as such later this year
)Also doesn’t tell us whether other similar munitions like SCALP/Taurus will be added this year.

Seems like the pattern holds up.

It would be great to have an era dedicated to Gen 1 and Gen 2 jets.

Honestly, I’m getting exhausted by the ridiculous BR compression in current random battles and having to fight missile slingers. Especially since I remember how much fun pre-supersonic top-tier gameplay used to be, I just don’t feel like playing that BR range at all anymore.

Yeah, was thinking that when I read it.

It should be easier for ARMs to reacquire deactivated radars and they should guide off last known location instead of purely IOG.

Yet again, ground kneecaps us.

This could have been mentioned in the initial blog above but oh well.

Id add 3 tiers of damage.

  • Light damage. (gunstrafe the ship, small calibre rockets, maybe small bombs) - repairs in 2-3 minutes
  • Medium damage (medium calibre bombs and damage to non-critical components, small fires) - 5-10 minute repair
  • Heavy damage (basically any critical damage, like large hull breaches, major fires, etc, and especially any hits from Torpedos to anywhere but the torpedo bulges and ASMs) - No repair at all.

Yeah which is why it should just be counted as destroyed as the vessel would no longer be combat capable really.

Also not ever nations has a large payload of ASMs unlike planes like F-2 which can carry six, so one or two should be enough to take out a ship as far as AI is concerned.

Eventually when they add player ships in this mode then that’s fine with some refinement to anti ship damage ideally.

And Chinese.

The J-15T was surprisingly capable in Nuclear Escalation. (Then again, YJ-91s are just copies of Kh-31D’s…)

Look, I get the chinese might not like this, but they are copy paste both in WT and reality. I do not need to split hairs over them.

(This is exaggerated, before I am crucified)

when it could take off the carrier

Very interesting!

Would it be possible to make AShMs strike its targets near the waterline, as this was customary for different missiles?

^^
Couldn’t put it any better

Ideally I would like to see them heading back towards the rearlines with a port to conduct repairs (give me a reason to use heavy bombs gaijin). But that would require competency.

Aye, Rafale carries 1 exocet, so a singular strike should present a notable threat.
