There is also IOG and restricting the search radius of the Brimstones to be very small instead of their current very large search pattern. Would perform no differently to any MITL weapon we have in-game already.

They would be kinda usable like this, they would not break the game , in this you are right.
But if LOAL gets to other wepons, or god forbid ground launched SPIKES, then say goodbye to ground RB
Then they need to remove MITL then, Because you can literally fire at a target on IOG/GNSS, and then pick a target when it gets close.
and quite frankly. Im fed up of aircraft being nerfed because of tanks. Just stop nerfing CAS for once. Especially with a gamemode like NE

You need to do it for each projectile and you kinda need LOS, you can cheese that but it’s clunky and no one bothers.
LOAL with spikes or LMUR means and endless stream of brimstones but with better seekers + MITL.
Also MITL was not added to helis for this reason, they will add it next patch, but will be a mistake.
Even only MITL IR weapons are too strong, adding LOAL will just make them uncounterable.
You would have to do the same for Mode 2 Brimstones though. They would perform identically, actually, weaker because youd need LoS with the target, not just the weapon
I already sad that only for brimstones it would be kinda Ok.
But it’s very rare for gaijin to introduce a mechanic and not add it for every other weapons.
Even in helis MITL was only rescheduled not removed, despite being batlantly OP on the devserver.
Maybe gaijin can only add LOAL for SAL systems like brimstone amd the famtasy JAGM-mr

Imo, the only OP thing about helis with MITL/FnF is the fact that they can instantly rearm.
and thats been a problem now for a while. Not even mentioning MITL. Even before FnF helis, it was a bit of an issue imo, as helis could rather easily limp back for a repair very quickly
Fix their radar signatures, fix LDIRCM and move helis landing pads far enough away that they actually have to travel to be in range of the map, let alone the other teams SAMs… and they actually become way more balanced.
The issue isnt the weapons, its the platforms and map layout.
Hopefully we get a Korea war to early early Vietnam style era of aircraft (1946 - 1964) F-86 Sabre dropping nukes and early SAMS supported with gun based Anti-Aircraft artillery would be awesome. Would be a way to have the B-29 into this mode and other heavy bombers.

I don’t believe they add new weapons to anyone outside of majors besides like maybe battlepass vehicles.
They have RCS,they do not have doppler effect, making them masked by ground clutter if standing still or against purely PD radars

Speaking of air defense features and improvements, can we please see some of these new systems be used in current air battle modes? I would like to see S-300 and Patriot systems in ARB. It’s still pretty awkward to see MiG-15s AI assets in a 13.0 + match. It really makes more sense to replace MiG-15 assets with B52, Tu-95, Su-27, & F-15s.
