I feel like they’ve ruined what could’ve been a good gamemode by just turning it into yet another Air RB match, that’s just bigger with a million AA

So you are complaining about realistic behavior where single aircraft cant shut down a battery of long range AA? Cause irl you´d need entire strike package of F-16s doing DEAD with HARMs to suppress that on top of EWAR from other aircraft and SEAD using decoys like TALD.

What’s even your point? I am lost, the long range and medium range AA are not behaving correctly, full stop, it isn’t that difficoult man. Multiple times the buk double taps at anything that moves, IRL that battery would run out of missles in 3 minutes, play NATO side for 5 minutes, you will see ITO and SPYDER constantly engaging BUK missles becouse the buk fires 2 missles at anyone that SPAWNS not fly, SPAWN. The solition is easy, ling and medium range AA should have limitation on what it can engage, and buff SAMPT or change it bevouse flying the su30 i can just igrnore it and take altitude without any issue.

I can see doing a GBU run, taking altitude and the buk launching on me and i have to go back on the deck adn go defensive.

But RN you spawn and buk launches in you , and the buk keep launching regularly, so you are barred from ever taking an attack profile or you do it always risking to eat a missle. Then if you survive while on the deck the buk will keep launching on you even without LOS to radar and perpetually so you are stuck being oeroetually defensive and perpetually risking abuk missle ignoring multipath or peppering you with shrapnel after bitting the ground.

All of this does not hapoen with the SAMP/T and on top of that russians have far better long range ARM

A couple of criticisms I have about this game mode:

What’s the point of having a 5-minute cooldown per aircraft at a specific airfield if that same cooldown doesn’t apply to the entire lineup? For example, a player dies in a Su-30SM2 and can immediately respawn at the same airfield in a Su-30SM with no delay at all. I like the idea of having a cooldown, but it should apply to every aircraft in the lineup.

Right now, air-to-air combat is definitely the meta because the SAM systems (just like in the previous version) are a bit too good at intercepting incoming munitions. I fired four HARM missiles at a BUK site, and it intercepted all of them without any issue. I was flying at 10,000 meters and about 30 km away from the site. If the BUK doesn’t intercept them, then the Pantsir and HQ-11 at the airfield almost certainly will, since they’re positioned a little too close to the BUK site.

We queued as a squad of four players and coordinated an attack on both the BUK site and the enemy aircraft. We had no trouble taking down the enemy planes, but the SAM sites intercepted every single anti-radiation missile. That whole interaction definitely needs some more work.

Other than that, it’s definitely an improvement this time around. With modern aircraft we have much more freedom to fly at high altitude, unlike the Cold War aircraft where flying above 1,000 meters was basically a death sentence.

in real life you don’t have BUK battery placed every 10KM appart and a s-300 battery 10km behind, so stop lecturing US about “realism”

Yeah, the Longer range AA should serve to harass people trying to take altitude and force defensive attackers after they released theyr ordenance not just destroy anything that moves

The amount of AA needs to be reduced. Also gotta love it they can still track through terrain and trees perfectly.

Currently there exists 27 ITO-90Ms in the world, just to put things into perspective.

Never would there be this much AA in a single frontline battle, because the more advanced these systems get, the less there are. Often the more advanced AA systems are also emplaced in places of critical importance like capitols. Things like shilkas & gepards, that are used to this day, are more numerous. I see 0 of these less advanced systems here.

Also there should be WW2 & vietnam war tiers. It would work better I reckon. Though the map and targets need to be different. Nuke bombers could return too.
(I want to see a German Amerikabomber with a nuke)

Frontline AA is not the problem, they should use theyr search radar tho … but using gbu39 with NATO and fab3000 with russia (with some luck some kh38 may slip through also) and the stagic saclos aa get destroyed already.

so went back to try out the russian ARM, used it with ESM and without…and it loves to not track, hit a random point in the forest and such.
CAS, ARM is simply not viable due to bugs.

Good changes, but what happened to the AI fleets? Are they there or do they spawn and get killed so fast I haven’t seen them?

Never had such problem, the only time when it does not hit is when someone else kills the radar you are targeting, wich playing in the russian side hapoens a lot, as kh31 are so effective NATO radar stay alive for less than 5 minutes each

I have played and I also doubt that. You will still get RWR alerts if it (or any other ARH missile) is coming in your general direction, does not always mean it was launched at the guy on the airfield the main radar itself literally can’t see

And yet it does fire (and score hits) across the entire map, basically from red AF to blue AF.

If thats not long range, I dont know what is. And I am not speaking about technical definitions, but what the SAM in question actually does.

I said making it more oppressive is not a solution, sampt are not oppressive. If anything they are too underpowered, with the su30 i can basically ignore them.

I know very well ho RWR work, i am not talking about the warning, i am talking about airfield AA having to intercept buk missle, i was sceptical at first, but i see every time i use NATO jets, and it’s hilarious.

This is not a realistic situation to begin with, it’s pointless to replicate real word engagement protocol, there are more people in a single lobby than combat aircrafts in the iranian or ukranian air force, the airfield are 30km from the front LMAO and there are more ITO than anyone else produced.

Long range AA in this gamemode serve only 2 pourposes, one is harassing high flyer air superiorty jets and attack aircrafts lobbying weapons making those 2 tactics a not just free like they are in RB, and second they need to be interesting and challenging targets for dedicated sead missions.

Right now SAMPT do not challenge anything, BUK litterally fires on anything making the entire NATO team constantly go defensive in every situation and the NATO ARM cannot go trough the BUK+PANTSIR wall, meanwhile RU Kh31 makes short work of anything emitting.

It’s not fun to be targeted since the spawn, i died in the F16 multiple times in multipath distance from the big ass BUK warhead.

Going defensive is not possibile as the buk will keep engaging endlessy and even double tap on every target. IF the buk engaged only after a cerain altitude then a attacker could reach it, send the glide bombs and go defensive against a very strong missle, that seems like more fun and engaging than staying perpetually on the deck dodging infinite BUK missle without any counterplay

This mode is at 0.8 Heli PvP farmfest level. Easy grind simulator if you have Su-30SM and 2, otherwise an SL drain.

Close range AA still aim your missiles going for the tank 5 kilometers away while ignoring the missile storm above them.

Its incredibly unbalanced to NATO forces, BUK is shooting at you literally the Second you take off while SAMP/T barely does anything, the Enemy Aircraft can fly High unobstructed, the SHORAD from the enemy shoots at you so Quick you have no chance to react. Its a turkey shoot and the game mode is incredibly unfun like this. The “Russian Bias” leaks out of every corner of this game mode at this BR, its insane. Either competely rework the SAM’s or you can probably scrap it.

Despite the red side being the only one playable, and rewards being a joke, and the stack of bugs. The gamemode simply isn’t fun.

The map is just too small and the objectives too condensed.

Its also annoying as hell to have your RWR screaming non stop from all the missiles still floating around…
