If only we could get a ground mode that isn’t combined, if just for a day.
Nuclear Option :D
No way is it the Cod Mine Man!
from BVV_d

Now I am just a humble tanker who doesn’t have all that much experience in air aside from bombers, but I think you should actually have a nuclear escalation mode for WW2 eras, giving a much larger amount of the player base access to the mode while also providing a place for bomber mains to be able to actually do what their planes are designed to do. It would also give you guys more of a reason to fix the honestly very bad damage models for the bombers and to add in some new bomber that, even if they never made it into production or prototyping but did have solid information confirmed to exist, such as the FW 400 for Germany.
This is just my two cents as a German main who really wants to play nuclear escalation but simply can’t because of how painful it is to play my favorite planes in realistic battles.
you are NOT tcmm son
Thanks for the post, transparency is appreciated.
For my part I’d like for the team to re-evaluate the rewards. For example, the reward for destruction of AI ground targets like ships is way too low considering the significant effort and munition expenditure required.
Furthermore I feel rewards are too low across the board. The game mode has to be competetive with Air Realistic Battles in terms of reward per time invested and currently it seems to fall short.
I dont know how interested the rest of this community is in this idea, but i would really love some transport mechanics where you can fly supplies with AC-130’s and MI-8’s etc
To be honest I wouldn’t mind strong , well defended anti air installations in the mode if destroying them means they stay destroyed till the battle ends.
The shorter range IR or SACLOS ones wouldn’t be an issue if they where able to respawn.
I’m all for taking out ground targets if it means i get to clear a path for my team to be able to fly at high altitude. As it currently is its just a stay low to the ground and try and multipath everything or sit over your airspace while sitting in a notch or die.
Also having a map that displays the range of long range anti air in the form of a circle would be a nice addition to allow more tactical planning and gameplay to find corridors of entry into enemy lines.
Massivley improve the economy of the mode
Add other eras (60s and 70s)
Add a comprehensive tutorial for such a mode and what keybinds are needed how they work. I can see that players who typically dont play on higher BRs will be lost in what to do how their armaments work
when the other abrams that didnt got the model update will be updated?
This all sounds really good and I think the mode is moving in the right direction. However, I would also like to see a rework of one major issue.
Right now, missile interception is far too effective across the entire game. This is not just a problem with SAM systems, but also with air-to-air missiles. We are currently in what many players call the “Iron Dome” meta, where missiles are constantly intercepting other missiles with an unrealistically high success rate.
SAM systems can reliably shoot down anti-radiation missiles, cruise missiles, bombs, and even other missiles with very little chance of failure. Air-to-air missiles can also intercept incoming missiles far more consistently than they should.
This makes SEAD gameplay frustrating, but it also affects air combat. You can launch all of your HARMs or other anti-radiation missiles, only to see every single one intercepted before they reach the target. Likewise, in air-to-air combat, missile engagements often end with missiles destroying each other instead of forcing pilots to defend against them.
I think missile interception should be much less reliable. Radar systems and missile seekers should have a harder time detecting, tracking, and intercepting smaller, faster weapons, especially during saturation attacks with multiple incoming missiles. Successful interceptions should still happen, but they should be the exception rather than the norm.
At the moment, it feels like almost everything you fire, whether it’s a HARM, air-to-air missile, rocket, cruise missile, or guided bomb, is intercepted far too easily. That creates gameplay that feels more like an “Iron Dome” simulation than realistic modern air combat.
No comment on SPAA and SAMs magically engaging targets can’t see or detect? Or turning their radar on or off based on psychic premonition?
Ok, these are nice News, but what could also help is by finally adding in build ESM/or Pods to NATO Vehicle which also allow the high Update rate of ESM just like what Russia and Chinese planes allready have

I’m ready!
All of this is really great to hear. I’m sure I’m not alone in the fact that after all these years of stale Air RB, the Escalation mode is the make or break for me. And you really have to understand that if the rewards in the mode aren’t on par with Air RB, most people simply will never play it, despite how fun it can be. People want to feel progression. I understand developing this mode, and seemingly multiple others at the same time is probably an incredible undertaking, but please do not give up on it. This mode could revolutionize the game. I look forward to testing further.
Developing the mode for earlier eras of aviation (the 1960s and 1970s).
perfect opportunity for a CF-105 event, or simply just added in the UK tech tree, in the case that more strategic bombers are added; like with the Tu-95 and B-52. it’d be awesome to see more strategic bombers and dedicated interceptors in Nuclear Escalation
Soon™
be interesting to see how that pull that off honestly.
