they should let people choose 1 rank VIII aircraft every week like f-15 then can choose f-15 again or another jet let f-16 to play
They can grind for it like anything else, flooding the gamemode with noobs and hackers is not a good idea.
just for nuke thunder not actual RB veterans don’t want this because they spent years getting the same jets lol
Neither was f4s but because of all the free players they were either butchered and left to be the only option playable (mig29) or they were completly op but because its america its deserved (f4s)
f4 and mig23 used to be fully free and usable by anyway not just veterans did u even play?

Will there ever be a mode like this for SIM? Or have you guys thought about porting over some of this work into SIM EC? It feels like you can really improve Air SIM with the work you guys did on Nuclear Thunder and kill 2 birds with one stone. Would love to hear the CM’s view on this. Is the work done for N.T. easy to transfer over to SIM EC and are there plans that you know of or could share regarding any SIM events in the future?

I was not going to post this but since you made the right step on your part to actually discuss with us, it would be hypocritical of us if we didn’t at least reply, even if we do not expect our feedback to be read or considered.
First off, thank you for the post. This is great for morale and is a step in the right direction. If you keep this up, a lot of us will be significantly happier with the game than otherwise.
Regarding what features we’d like to see next that you requested feedback on: I’ll try to be brief here.
- SPAAs should not respawn in place and immediately begin tracking airplanes. They should spawn at a FOB and begin their journey towards the defensible location via supply routes. This makes DEAD a lot more impactful, and makes intercepting supply routes an actually critical element of strategy. I can tell you want to do this because convoys exist and travel between bases. What I am trying to say is that in my opinion this is the #1 priority here. It would make the dynamics of the ground attack mission much clearer and would stop players from complaining about the AA. It’s AMAZING to have this much AA - the problem is that they respawn out of nowhere and as such killing them has little to no impact.
- To build on top the point above, there ought to be objectives which impact the dynamic of the mode. destroy a base, that point of interest can no longer be used for supply routing, so it shifts the way an entire flank operates. This is where capturing airfields also comes into play as an amazing addition. Capture airfields → change the dynamic of the map, angles from which your team can attack and so on.
- Use of other vehicles (helicopters and ships): this is outstanding, but I realize you will not prioritize this because it’s a monumental amount of work. Still, you have the code to let players play all these vehicles, so you could try to use it. A LOT of people would highly appreciate the ability to play other vehicles, and more importantly: this is War Thunder’s vision since 2016! Combined arms, all at once. I had this grand vision that one day you could spawn as a tank and fight on an isolated part of the map, whilst player-led jets fly overhead, whilst player-led boats control the seas and maybe even have infantry down in the cities now that it’s a thing. I know, server issues, it’s always been the showstopper, but this would be the single biggest thing you could do for the health of the game. EVERYBODY would flock to this mode if this were possible, and it would very likely attract new players too. Not to mention it would sell a ton of premiums - it’s one thing to buy a premium so you can grind in the boring 2014 ABC(D) gamemodes, and a whole other to join a server where you participate in a much greater effort and your personal impact is much more valuable, AND you have so many more offensive options and locations to fight on, in a single match. Finally, it would split the attention of the jet players three ways - SEAD/DEAD, CAS against players (especially tanks), CAS against facilities/roads/infrastructure, and of course CAP.
I hope this makes sense. It is by no means super accurate or comprehensive, but more of an idea with a tint of wishlisting.

I think for this game mode it is really important to keep the air defense systems difficult. After playing on both sides, its starting to feel much more balanced. Keeping the air defenses oppressive, but destroying the radar vehicle of these sites to knock them out feels very fair.
I do feel like some of the ground AA is still a little overpowered in terms of ordinance interception. It doesn’t feel very fun to play to take off, launch all of your guided munitions and watch the kill feed as every single one gets taken out. But this also might just be a skill issue. I have noticed taking time to survey the battle and lining up better drops (usually sending guided munitions over as much friendly ground units as possible) usually results in more hits on target.
I really like the idea of adjusting tickets for destroying more meaningful ground targets. Im not sure how possible it would be, but I feel like it would be awesome to add some more of this dynamic battlefield events into the game mode. Such as destroying fuel depots could result in enemy convoys getting stuck / or no longer advancing or maybe destroying ammo depots could remove reloading from certain nearby sites.
I would also love to see a return of free vehicles for this mode. I understand the logistical challenges of allowing players to play free vehicles rather than restricting the mode to player unlocked vehicles, but in the last tests of nuclear escalation, It was incredibly fun to be able to play the mode with my friends who haven’t even made it past biplanes.
Maybe this could be set up like it is done in ground rb right now. Each match every player gets 2 randomly selected free vehicles with pre made loadouts. These vehicles could still gain you sl and rp, but at a deduction compared to regular vehicles, and again they could have limited, pre made loadouts. I feel like this would drag a whole lot more attention to the game mode and allow a much larger player base to enjoy it. Plus after playing this iteration of the mode, having at least 2 vehicles to play is the way to go with the current cool down times.
Anyway, Im super excited to see where this ends up in the future. Great work and always love to see the transparency with the community.
Except the problem is - if a team can’t actually suppress the air defences because of how strong they are, and not having players with the right magic weapon - like the newly added ARM’s in which some players have not unlocked for what they want to play in it, or haven’t bought a premium that has them, then your freaking screwed. I figured I’d use it to do work on Japan, where the only 2 planes I have in the BR are the MiG-29N, where I only have the air to air weapons done, and the F-2A ADTW. After firing off about 18-24 ASM’s - the IR ones because the ARH ones are too unreliable, and about 14-16 not going off on crazy courses somehow missing ships right in front of them - I sunk one carrier, none of the missile boats I hit sunk. I tried to bomb targets, forget about getting close enough between all the AA and players in Su-30’s just trolling for kills to pad their stats to use dumb bombs, and oh wait - you have AA so over tuned in anti-ordnance defence as well I kept trying to hit the damn things with the heavy GNSS bombs, cause it’s the only ranged land attack option I have, and guess what, all of them shot down in no time by the air defence, not one got through. Only reason I could even try that was because a couple guys with premium F-18’s had ARMS to knockout the BUK’s - which are still freaking way overtuned.
There were points it had problems that got worked out - but what you had around the end of the April 1st event, least in the lower BR bracket, was relatively fun AND rewarding. This still isn’t fun or rewarding, even after the SL buffs.
Also - ‘statistically balanced’ is not always ‘actually balanced’, literally learned this in ‘Game and Simulation Design 101’ class. If something is absolutely useless in match A, but overly useful in B - that’s just broken, even if it’s win rate and whatever else averages out to something considered ‘statistically balanced’. And the guys who are bottom tier against it aren’t gonna have fun - and complain it’s OP, the guys in it that are the bottom tier are going to not have fun - and complain it’s UP, with both being true at once while nothing happens cause ‘statistically it’s fine’. Same is true for game modes or anything else.
Truer words have never been spoken. Problem here: Statistical balancing is much faster/easier/cheaper to do than to actual balance things. Given gaijins track record of laziness on things that matter, I don’t expect them to change their ways regarding that matter.
The f4eeeeee was free and the mig23mTHREE was the mig29 and f4Ssss werent and were meta but then caused alot of the balancing to go out the window such as russia being way worse in the low end and dissapointing in the high end,
And youre level 20 with a near 0 kd did you even take off airfield?
