Sometimes I can’t drop the nuclear bomb for a reason I didn’t find out yet. There is a message when I try to drop but things goes too fast at this moment and I have not the time to read and understand.
My process is always the same :
I put a mark on the map (red square)
Fly close to the target
Select the bomb
The red line cue appear with the countdown
I pop up, and drop at 0 second (just a basic toss bombing)
What you are supposed to do is when you mark the point on the map, you fly towards it until a certain distance (few km away). Then line up with the line, hold spacebar to prep the bomb release, and pull up. This will AUTOMATICALLY drop the bomb.
What your are currently doing is conventional bombing, which you should not use CCRP for.
Constantly Calculated Release Point basically locks your bomb drop until the Constantly Calculated Impact Point lines up. The bomb won’t drop unless you hold spacebar AND the CCIP lines up with the red mark (CCRP).
With the way you are doing, hold spacebar before, while, and after being on the target you want to drop at. Then, you let CCRP do all the work of dropping the bomb so it lands where you marked it. That 0 seconds basically means it will take the bomb zero seconds to travel to that spot that is marked.
Rather than pressing only when the counter gets to 0. try pressing and holding space at about 5 seconds. It should say “weapon release permission” at the bottom of the screen and the weapon will be released at the correct time .
that’s not the message that sounds like a speed message if he did not have time to read and understand it then how am I supposed to know please read next time
From both my experience and understanding, nukes do not have a drop speed limit. Ive definetly dropped nukes at speeds greater than mach 1, which would be the typical release speed for most bombs
its problaby laser box the if I put a laser box from F16XL and spawn in nuke F16 the box stays and I cant drop the nuke really 2 different planes somehow kept the same laser target
I think the CCRP and the Laser box follow each of but yea for me at least idk if its my settings when I put the red box it turns on the CCRP and doesn’t let me drop until 0
Well, when you’re on a nuke run, not really. The message I not about 5 words only.
And it appears when you hit the drop button, which means you are at the top of your pop up, with dozens of missiles already rushing at you.
So, no, there is not the time to read it correctly.
At a guess it’s the auto release permission
If you are waiting to zero to hit release, you are probably overflying the release point, as others have mentioned, press and hold release a little before the release point.
Alternately you can turn off the auto release to drop manually regardless of what the CCRP says (there is a toggle for if it’s on or off by default too).
I’m wondering if the nuke bomb use the exact same mechanic as a basic unguided bomb.
But I am not sure because I tried to reproduce it in test flight, without success.
I guess I will just go for the auto CCRP release to make sure.
No problem, I usually use auto, I just like to have the toggle handy in case I want quickly bomb something using the CCIP without having to mess around with target points. As far as I have been able to tell it works the same with regular bombs and nukes, it might just be slight latency/ ping/ desync making it harder to hit the key in the exact window during a live match compared to in a client side test drive.
Also I’m not sure if nukes have a max release speed, that might be worth checking as well, I don’t think they did initially, but it may have changed (or I’m just wrong).
