As we all know the Leclerc MSC has been given a full set of composite armor even if it didn’t have it in real life, being mostly a test bed for the future MBT of France.
The decision was probably made to increase the competitivnes of the tank and help those who are not really familiar with handling a tank that relied mostly on its mobility and its gun.
That said, onto the main topic.
As we already reported multiple times, both looking at official sources and making even in depth reports comparing the weld lines on the Ariete’s hull IRL, that shows a different armor layout than what we have in game, the Ariete should have composite armor on its UFP, but the issue was never addressed for multiple reasons.
Now that we have a first precedent of a vehicle getting composite armor that never had, can we suggest to proceed in the same way for the Ariete implementing a plausible composite screen on its UFP using all those in depth reports that analyzed the weld lines on the IRL hull as reference?
As we know the composite screen exists, confirmed by Leonardo itself and other sources, Gaijin can try to implement it tweaking the values to make it even on par with early MBTs ( as I’m not asking for an impenetrable shield ), solving some of its artificially induced survivability issues that make it easy prey even for medium caliber autocannons shooting at center of mass right on the front.
Tell me what you think about it and if this topic can be passed on better hands (as no suggestion can be made comparing two vehicles and their implementation in game).

Can we expect it on ariete UFP too?
I mean we all sadly know the answer.

Looking at oll the reports I’ve partecipated on this topic…yeah, it’s a faint dream, but the introduction of the MSC as it is now ( literally with fake composite armor ) can open the discussion about balancing tanks by adding missing armor pieces when you have informations about them.
Up untill now ( still knowing that 90% of the armor schemes on top tier is pure guesstimation due to national secrets), we had no chance to point out obvious different treatments between different machines as we could’nt know the armor values of said vehicles.
Now we have the literal “smoking gun”: Why a tank that had no composite armor in real life can get a full armor package while a tank that we have proof that had said armor can’t?
EDIT:
Edited the “fake armor” into “fake composite armor”, as it can be misinterpreted.
The MSC had a basic armor package of steel to test all the systems in a fully enclosed, accurate as possible, space, but no composite was installed on it due to its nature.
Calling it fake armor is reductive, when MSC Estienne got shot at for armor testing and destroyed, but whatever

Hey, im fully on team ariete since that infamous weight increase but im afraid that any suggestion to add armor to ariete will be shot down by the very same rules gaijin decided to break.
Spoiler
On the side note gaijin could add some visual effect to ariete getting destroyed, similiar to when you hit someone in half life 2 with pulse rifle alt fire. It would add absolutely nothing to the game but at least ariete players would get a good laugh.

Ariete not getting armor its just gaijin being silly
