No viable SPAA at 7.0 bracket?

Decided to revisit my forgotten Centurion AVRE, and holyS the CAS spam in this br is totally out of hand, 2 minutes in half the team is already flying, it’s almost impossible to play Ratel and you get strafed first minute in 7 out of 10 matches, and then you are seeing 6.0-8.0 enemies and you only have Skink??? my last 8 ground vehicle deaths was by CAS, and nobody even bothers using SPAA in this br because they are mostly dogwater, only occasionally you see Shilkas or Yenisei on your side who can do a tiny bit of thing but when you are British ground main you don’t have an anti air at 7.0, all you have is a lizard bullet sponge and a feeder to CAS with rockets or bombs.

AVRE dominates so it’s all good (you’ve only got like 6 games in it - play it some more and you’ll see).

As for SPAA - I like using:

That is to say, most of the time I’ll either jump in Tempest or have some fun with HE-VT from M109A1/G6. I don’t really find CAS a big issue when using AVRE, you’re given a lot of smoke and you’re also constantly put on maps where there is a lot of building cover and other obstables. Plus the vehicle is quite survivable from bomb blasts as it is. I wouldn’t say no to more SPAA, though. Always room for more.

50 matches so far, it’s a strange vehicle that takes a long time to get used to its drop-off, I’m still fine turning my custom sight to figure out the bullet drop after 700m when my vehicle position is lower than the enemy’s, 22 seconds is a long time to sit after I missed a shot lol. So far I cannot land an accurate short without using the range finder every time, often feels like there is no room for error, 50-100m differences can make you completely miss the shot.

So far I find the Conway is easier to do well at 7.0

Use FV4005 if you wanna snipe, lol. Max I’ll really do is about 400m. I’m most at home in the AVRE by duking it out on city maps, good cover from CAS, too. No range finder needed in cases like this or this. It’s an in-your-face vehicle, like the Object279. That’s why it really is good you get a good amount of smoke that deploys as a smoke screen. You can fire a shot and just blind the enemies and retreat when required.

oopa, fixed link

I only used to troll the enemies by hitting them somewhere they cannot even see lol the longest range I’ve hit someone was in Poland map, around 1.2km and he was sitting behind the hill, but I make around 4 shots with slight adjustments every time, that was so satisfying.

I only have one premium CAP in my line up, it’s the Spitfire Venture at 3.0, this thing turns great as soon as I get behind someone they can’t really get rid of me, but the firepower sucks its a pea shooters, I averaging getting one kill per spawn so far, and I see the spec of Temptest, seems like it cannot turn at all and it will be trouble for someone like me who doesn’t fly much, I might be getting another spitfire with under 17s turn time, else I don’t know how to fly them without getting killed after one pass.

It turns better than the stat card makes out, but you’re spoiled for choice - can always bring a Spitfire, Strikemaster (if you got it), or even try your luck nuking people with the 12000lb.

Haha, nice. That’s a damn good hit. I’ve got hits that far with the FV4005, but it’s much easier compared to AVRE. In AVRE, my favourite shots are multi-kills. When I’m done with this silly air event, we’ll have to squad up for some AVRE matches.

It would make them confused as hell

I believe if you hit the same person twice like this, they would think you are a cheater lol

Good way to punish campers for sure. That second video you have the perfect spot. I love sitting there, can cover so many enemy advances. Typically I’ll sit there in an ATGM spammer, like ZT3A2.

My choice is either the Bosvark or Yestervark as a viable options.

Bosvark is stupid slow and a bit of pain to maneuver but makes up for in it’s firepower. The Yestervark is small and has a massive blind spot for enemies approaching low from the front and right side, but has a fast firing gun. Both are open top which is unfortunate, so you need to choose when to deploy them to be somewhat effective.

Yeah, I agree. If you’re someone who is well tuned with the 23mm - it is absolutely lethal. I honestly have never really used the Skink, it just doesn’t interest me, but I will admit that there have been a few times facing it where I’ve been frustrated that I can’t just strafe it to death like most other SPAA around those BR.

Don’t worry, we’ll probably get another SPAA at 8.3 or 10.3 next update

This why so many call for a GRB with no CAS.

I already lost my patience due to it’s very low velocity shells, where the only time I could kill someone is they mg dive on me, and the smart ones would fire a few shots then quickly turn away and dodge all the slow-ass bullets. I don’t know if Falcon without its APDS belt could be as low as 7.3 because it doesn’t have a radar, maybe they can do it in a way where br change base on loadout? lmao

7.0 to 8.0 needs some love too, current strongest SPAA at 8.3 IMO is the PGZ09.

Don’t worry, give it another update and the M163 will be 7.0

Doesn’t British is one of the CAS enjoyers at this BR? You got spitfire MK24, and tons of meteor, why you only focus on those SPAAs?

Because some of us isn’t into flying

Then that’s why you will suffering from CAS, fighter could be the most of important anti-aircraft way, while spaa can only do a part

Grinding out 2 entire trees just to be able to drive your iconic early post WW2 tanks is rather ridiculous to ask, and I say this as someone who enjoys flying.

And as someone who enjoys flying, I rather fly in game modes dedicated to the act and have fun there rather than deal with a 5x5 km bowl (maybe 8x8 on a good day!) with planes phasing into reality as for whatever absurd reason they get an airspawn

SP cost is the bigger factor to consider. A spitfire Mk24 or Meteor without bombs costs about 500 SP. An SPAAG costs 70.

If they were the same cost, I would concur, But that is not the case.
