Germany made both the turret and hull. Not any of it is actually American built, they just slapped them together - incorrectly I might add. Tbh I wouldn’t mind the US receiving it but Germany is kinda in a stance where it needs it more.
I think we have a slight misunderstanding of how history works then. History is what happened. What happened was a G turret was attatched to an incomplete Panther II hull. The result is historical.

It was only ever put together vecause it was no longer German. The Americans didn’t have the ability to finish the tank properly, so to test it anyways they put another turret on it.
Sure, both parts of it are German, but it wasn’t owned by Germany, made for Germany or even by Germans.
Luckily that makes it unrelated to the actual Panther II project, so the real Panther II is still viable as unfinished prototype for the German techtree. For example if someone were to take the unfinished Yak-141 and do something else with it that doesn’t invalidate the exiating project either, unlike if regular development naturally progressed into an updated plan of the same vehicle where the newest is taken as reference.

The proposed turret was never built, nothing more than a blueprint. It is a “what if” scenario where Germany actually has the time and resources to build it. It could have happened under other circumstances, but it is not the turret that ended up getting mounted to the hull, so it is not the historical one. Sorry :P

Basically see it split:
German Panther II was a real historical project that was intended to use a new turret. By the end of the war this was partially made with the hull complete but not the turret. The project ended at this state.
Americans captured various German equipment, including the Panther II hull. For testing it was mounted with a Panther G turret. This “Panther II/G” is a historic vehicle, but it’s not the German Panther II project the same way many German captured and modified vehicles are unrelated to the foreign tanks they were based on.
Both are historical, just different.

I am not trying to invalidate the intended Panther 2, I am arguing over the use of a word and far as I’m concerned.

You clearly have no understanding of the panther 2 program the program was cancelled in 1943 they could produce the turret still it’s not a what if.

The HS 30 based predecessor and was powered by the Rolls-Royce B81 MK80F 8-cyl 220 hp engine. Armed with a 90 mm DEFA D915 LP gun (same as ELC) ~ so cant fire HESH or AP but its HEATFS pens slightly more than Jpz 4-5 but at lower velocity.
