More like 14.3 now as thats the new top BR, which means quite a few nations lack an equivalent 14.3 and some nations that did get 14.0 jets managed to get a worse F15E equivalent at 14.0
China can get the J-16 at 14.3 or the J-10C at probably 14.0? For Japan the best option I see (unless they upgraded their F-15s with an AESA?) is the F-2A Super Kai (based on the F-16E block 60). I know it’s a paper plane but at least it’s an indigenous design and fills the gap until F-35, so it’d be more legit than the F-16AJ

No reason to get unfair treatment, again either all nations get paper vehicles for missing gaps or none of them do.
Well that does work but tbh Gaijin doesn’t have any real standards, as the AJ shows, so I’d rather have them be “unfair” for nations that actually need their stuff. If you look at USA for example, it makes less sense to add paper planes because they don’t even have all their weapons yet, many planes like the F-101 are missing. On the other hand, some nations like Japan do need stuff like the Super Kai to fill gaps, and IMO it’s more fair that way
Also I don’t really get what is so unfair about compensating the issues of a nation compared to others, I think that’s pretty fair actually
Yeah except the problem is Japan isn’t the only nation that will have this gap and there are plenty of other nations that could get paper vehicles to bridge gaps or subtree vehicles, gaijin chose not to give them stuff so again why should one nation be excluded from the same problems as others?
