Further Contenders…

🇬🇷 M113 w/ SAMSON Mini Remote Weapon Station

Images/Media

IMG_3768

  • Summary:
    • A Hellenic Army M113A1 (or maybe the M113A2) equipped with a SAMSON Mini Remote Weapon Station made by Rafael. This was introduced at DEFEA 2025 as part of the IFV tender to modernize up to 500 M113 APC’s.
      • Armament:
        • Autocannon - 30mm M230LF
          • Fires M789 HEDP and M799 HEI rounds primarily.
        • Anti-tank Guided Missile - Spike-LR
      • Estimated BR: 9.0-9.3
        • Equipped with the latest thermals/auto-tracking, a 30mm with HE rounds, and FnF anti-tank missiles however, still an M113-platform with no APFSDS-T or APDS-T rounds and limited ammo capacity.
        • Absolute helicopter/slow aircraft destroyer.
        • 30mm limited effectiveness against armor, same munitions used on the Apache.
        • At least 2x ATGM’s ready-to-fire, possibly 2x additional stored inside.
  • Notes:
    • I can’t make out the sight, almost like a MiniPop or Sight-25H which are both high-resolution EO/IR optics with auto-tracking, thermal channels, and integrated Laser Rangefinder.

  • Displayed is the potential armor kit by EODH.

Not being known to carry weapons is different from being able to carry weapons. You never did follow up on what you ended up clarifying with the suggestion mod (or was it a tech mod? I dunno), what did they say? I mean, no evidence exists that suggests it was gutted and lost the ability to use weaponry, why would it be presumed it can’t use any. To me personally it seems like an illogical conclusion due to the lack of evidence and documentation surrounding the vehicle and its development. At the end of the day it was an IAF Kurnass, and without any information that proves the weaponry it did use can’t be used anymore I find it hard to believe the idea it can’t use any weaponry at all. It very well may have been gutted in a way to even further improve its flight performance more so than it already was for the purpose of demonstration, but again the proof is yet to be seen. It was still capable of mounting pylons and armament, so we know that much, but yes being able to use said mounted armament is different.

Keep in mind, it still has a gun too :)))

A more expansive and balanced naval roster would enrich gameplay by ensuring that every nation has access to a diverse array of modern warships. This approach would help maintain parity in combat effectiveness, giving players a broad spectrum of choices that reflect historical and contemporary advancements in naval warfare.

Additionally, introducing submarines into the mix would revolutionize naval engagements by adding an entirely new dimension to tactical gameplay. Their inclusion would create dynamic interactions between surface vessels and submerged threats, offering subchasers and destroyers an essential role in counter-submarine warfare. Players commanding these vessels would engage in strategic anti-submarine operations, utilizing sonar, depth charges, and specialized weaponry to hunt and neutralize enemy submarines, fostering high-stakes cat-and-mouse encounters.

This expanded naval ecosystem would bring fresh strategic depth to the game, encouraging players to adapt their tactics and coordinate across different ship classes. The addition of submarines could also necessitate the introduction of new mechanics, such as underwater acoustics, periscope-based spotting, and torpedo evasion maneuvers, further enhancing immersion and complexity.

Dont want to be rude, but… why is this reads like an AI?

AI? Impossible.

If I were an AI, I’d be plotting world domination, think Skynet… not discussing the finer points of naval balance.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I must return to my very human activity of staring wistfully out to sea and pondering the meaning of periscope-based spotting!

Seeing as we have the Bering sea in-game for naval, maybe the Bering straight could work as a EC map (maybe also arcade if shortened)

Would love to recreate a certain fictional conflict (and we have all but 3 planes that took part in said fictional battle) from a different game.

It’s worth mentioning that there are competitors to both of these.

EODH systems has proposed their own upgrade utilizing an R400 or MIDGARD weapon station.

John Cockerill has also proposed an upgrade utilizing a 1030 turret, although I’m not sure how popular this option will actually be.

On the other hand, the Leopard 1 with Cockerill turret has been repainted in Greek army camouflage and is now being offered as a direct foreign competitor to the Leopard 1A5HEL.

These images may be a bit low in quality as I’m writing from my phone, so they are also easily viewable via a post I made on Reddit.

I appreciate you posting your walkthrough at the DEFEA 2025, sweet pics. Looking forward to part 2.

As for the Leopard 1HEL w/ the Cockerill 3105 turret, it looks really good and would be sick to see. If they have the budget, I can see that but if its constrained, I’d imagine they will use the standard turret with more armor and electronics upgrades.

F-14A getting 9L’s and x4 AIM-7E-2’s under the belly of the plane (idk why currently it uses 2 +1)

Oh I didn’t walkthrough myself haha, the post is just a collection of photos I’ve gathered from Twitter and various reporting sites.

But yes, I do plan on doing a part 2 later today, seeing as there are no doubt a few more vehicles revealed since I last checked.

Sweet, looking forward to it!
