Well yeah, it didn’t get adopted of course, but the US military had clearly enough experience with mobile artillery to take it into consideration, which is why other SPGs were trialled with recoilless rifles as well.
The reason it was trialled was for additional offensive capabilities if push came to shove, but clearly that was found to be more of an issue at the doctrinal level, which is why it was dropped.
The issue was with the size of the internal bays, wasn’t long enough to carry meteor, so they must have been testing the modification that allows for longer missiles interally on behalf of the brits
Idk where you heard that, the reason is entirely due to block 4 software delays, meteor is the same length as 120, it’s developed to fit the recessed bays on a euro fighter, which are intended for AMRAAMs. But yeah as @quartas121 said, due to space constraints the UK prefers to pay for use of another country’s test facilities, ASRAAM for example was first flown on a F-16C in the US.
I mean who does even watch TEC unironically ?
That guy just reads updates and it takes him 15 minutes to do so, one of the biggest wastes of time anyone can do on the internet.
