coz M6 was cool and Maus was cooler
…
you gotta have a backup
The M40 GMC was used in the Korean War, where enemy forces were often fortified among the hills and mountains. I assume a recoilless rifle of any sort would be useful if they ended up returning fire from such visible positions.
But you also have a 6 inch howitzer
With a long reload time, and little to no armor, not to mention the time it would take to aim and calibrate such a large howitzer.
I’m also wondering how often “peaking” tactics work, in which you engage the enemy immediately after they fire and are now in the middle of a reload.
A howitzer shouldnt be that close to the enemy in a convention war anyway. Thetrs a reason this didnt get adopted.
I hope this means JNAAM for British and Japanese F-35s, since Meteor is now officially compatible.
If only the French didn’t interfere with JNAAM…
Well yeah, it didn’t get adopted of course, but the US military had clearly enough experience with mobile artillery to take it into consideration, which is why other SPGs were trialled with recoilless rifles as well.
The reason it was trialled was for additional offensive capabilities if push came to shove, but clearly that was found to be more of an issue at the doctrinal level, which is why it was dropped.
As always after every patch. Gaijin, gib F-2A
Not really a wish, but Strategic Bombers might genuinely be coming soon. Also Atomic Ace shows a B-52 (possible hint?)
Mods keep deleting any thread I make about this info sadly
A while back after the CM disclosures where they talked about Multi-Vehicle SAM systems I posted something in the last thread for the MIM-23.
And that just got a little bit closer :)
3km Minimum, 50km Maximum Range for anyone who didn’t know. It also has a mobile trailer.
If it’s player-controlled then it would have to be on the M548 chassis as the standard trailer need to be deployed before firing no?
Yep, the Radar can be added onto the back for the trailer part.
This disk is the illuminator for the search radar
The integration stuff usually happens in the US (Edwards AFB probably). On an American F-35 maybe, if you know what I’m getting at
The issue was with the size of the internal bays, wasn’t long enough to carry meteor, so they must have been testing the modification that allows for longer missiles interally on behalf of the brits
Will probably come with block 4 then
Idk where you heard that, the reason is entirely due to block 4 software delays, meteor is the same length as 120, it’s developed to fit the recessed bays on a euro fighter, which are intended for AMRAAMs. But yeah as @quartas121 said, due to space constraints the UK prefers to pay for use of another country’s test facilities, ASRAAM for example was first flown on a F-16C in the US.
That’s interesting. Ugly but interesting.
Yeah, so if something happens to AIM-260, we have a failsafe (in-game)
I need a Djiboutian sub-TT for Israël!
