A more expansive and balanced naval roster would enrich gameplay by ensuring that every nation has access to a diverse array of modern warships. This approach would help maintain parity in combat effectiveness, giving players a broad spectrum of choices that reflect historical and contemporary advancements in naval warfare.
Additionally, introducing submarines into the mix would revolutionize naval engagements by adding an entirely new dimension to tactical gameplay. Their inclusion would create dynamic interactions between surface vessels and submerged threats, offering subchasers and destroyers an essential role in counter-submarine warfare. Players commanding these vessels would engage in strategic anti-submarine operations, utilizing sonar, depth charges, and specialized weaponry to hunt and neutralize enemy submarines, fostering high-stakes cat-and-mouse encounters.
This expanded naval ecosystem would bring fresh strategic depth to the game, encouraging players to adapt their tactics and coordinate across different ship classes. The addition of submarines could also necessitate the introduction of new mechanics, such as underwater acoustics, periscope-based spotting, and torpedo evasion maneuvers, further enhancing immersion and complexity.
If I were an AI, I’d be plotting world domination, think Skynet… not discussing the finer points of naval balance.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I must return to my very human activity of staring wistfully out to sea and pondering the meaning of periscope-based spotting!

It’s worth mentioning that there are competitors to both of these.
EODH systems has proposed their own upgrade utilizing an R400 or MIDGARD weapon station.
John Cockerill has also proposed an upgrade utilizing a 1030 turret, although I’m not sure how popular this option will actually be.
On the other hand, the Leopard 1 with Cockerill turret has been repainted in Greek army camouflage and is now being offered as a direct foreign competitor to the Leopard 1A5HEL.
I appreciate you posting your walkthrough at the DEFEA 2025, sweet pics. Looking forward to part 2.
As for the Leopard 1HEL w/ the Cockerill 3105 turret, it looks really good and would be sick to see. If they have the budget, I can see that but if its constrained, I’d imagine they will use the standard turret with more armor and electronics upgrades.
yes, i believe the J10B is very likely to come next patch to become China’s new 14.0 equivalent.
i hope they add it with the upgraded engine though, as if gaijijn decides to give the same AL31 found in the J10A, it will feel more of a sidegrade rather than an actual upgrade.
