Next Major Update "Sky Odyssey" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

Hi, excuse me, I would like to know if we can solve the issue with the pl12 series in the next update
SD-10A, PL-12, PL-12A Autopilot Broken

Good question

It takes less effort for them to review small batches of updated info rather then entire new posts in which they have to reverify sources and the additional sources. Useless reports and people using it as a platform for complaints will never not be a thing. Using that as a reason to make reporting difficult for those who use the resource correctly is illogical.

Not necessarily, they’ll have to constantly keep checking back and seeing if the user updated the report. And how long should they wait? What if the user never comes back as it does happen? Days? Weeks? Easier to just shut down the report and have them remake it correctly or not at all.

There will always be reports being shut down and users being banned as a result of useless reports. And there’s also no shortages of legitimate reports that they have to go through as well. In fact, useless reports make it harder for legitimate reports to go through, they should indeed make reporting even more difficult than it is now.

Shut down reports right away if it’s not made right, and in fact they should have a ranking system where users are ranked by how often their reports are properly prepared and start prioritizing reports from users who have made legitimate reports and deprioritizing reports from users who can’t follow the rules.

Leaving an open report literally hurts no one. There are open reports from a year ago, if it was an issue somehow then those wouldve been closed by now. If they dont come back then just leave it as is, as they seem to be fine leaving open reports already.

I agree with the ranking system but i could also see that be abused easily by the “trusted” users. But again closing a report for the sake of lack of info just wastes time for all involved.

Sadly, it very much does. Open reports need to be constantly rechecked. All the while it becomes more and more difficult the more are left open whilst new ones come in all the time.

Once a report has a response, it becomes the responsibility of who answered it.

It increases the backlog of open reports where it sits in a pile with actual legitimate reports that deserves the attention more than a report that wasn’t properly made in the first place.

For the bug-reporting managers and the volunteers, closing the useless report ensures that other people can safely ignore those reports and check on other ones instead, legitimate ones. And if those trusted users abuse the system, then they can start getting deprioritized as well.

The biggest problem with the Issue site is that you will often come across trash like this.

Honestly, if it were for me, all users spamming the site with trash that CLEARLY isn’t a report of a bug or historical inaccuracy should be perma-banned from the platform.

Loading the staff with useless work and burying ACTUAL reports…

This makes sense, i just dont see that being the case in practice. With month old reports still being open with zero attention from report mods or the orignal posters. If posts tagged with more info needed left open to the original poster, i just dont see how these would be an issue while hundreds are still floating around for months untouched.

I would imagine there is some sort of purge system, where reports x days old get deleted or closed, any posts left untouched requesting more info could easily fall into that criteria.

I would imagine some middle ground here could be achieved that doesnt put too much strain on the report mods but makes things easier for actual reporters.

Update release window hopefully next week Monday - Wednesday 🤞

Then devs have ~7-8 weeks to release November update (and a further ~3-4 weeks for Winter update? Crunch time 😅). Personally I’m expecting the same flavour of update as Sky Odyssey: new vehicles here and there (cough, Su-35 and F-15EX) and new features to boot. Things such as new missiles are ehhh (internally I’m overjoyed), but I wouldn’t be dissatisfied either way.

In the meantime…

There isn’t.

So because there’s thousands of reports untouched then it’s okay to add another one to the pile? You don’t see the problem with that logic?

There is a distinction to be made here that those yet unanswered are yet to picked up. Those that have been, become the person who answereds responsibility to then follow and manage.

We have explored this, but it likely also wouldn’t make a lot of people happy.

While you’re here, I have a question.

The dev-server closes tomorrow, or in less than 24 hours from now. It is also said that currently developers are focusing/prioritizing dev-server reports. If the Exocet only arrives on patch day, does this mean that any and all reports for the Exocet will not count as a prioritized dev-server report given that the reports would have been made on live?

This makes sense, i see the issue here. Im assuming if a mod closes a report for more info though, if the original poster creates a follow up then the orginal mod reassumes ownership of the follow up? Or does it go back into the pool for any mod to take ownership.

Hey @Smin1080p_WT a little quick question. What is the source yall are using to state that the F-102 could use the Aim-4F and G? Because everything else im seeing about the plane makes no mention of being compatible and list only the earlier versions of the missile

I have one hope for this update before it goes live: a fix for the F-86E(M). As it should be a Mk 4, and the Mk 4 never used the Orenda engine. As both Italy and Greece got their Canadair Sabres with the same program (the CL-13 Mk 4 in the Italian tree should also be named F-86E(M) due to that…)

What does “(M)” mean? Aeronautica Militare usually calls theirs just F-86E.

  1. And i didnt compare them.
  2. Germany has only one A7 unlike sweden, and while a very good tank its not AS strong as some people here try to depict it.
  1. i agree that the A5/A5 POS and A6 should share the same BR
  2. hell will freeze over bevore we get actual decompression
  3. the A7/122 should be higher but a whole BR is a bit much (13.3 A7 and 12.3 std. Leos) 0.7 would be best imo

If you have the same players perform the same or better in a supposedly over-Brd tank and a adequate tank at the same BR, then thats probably beacuse the tanks are comparable. The LeClers are not as bad as some people make them out to be.

All im saying is that the std. Leos A5/A6/POS and LeClercs are similar, different playstyle but comparable effectiveness.

@Smin1080p_WT , the blog is blatantly incorrect on its assertions that the F-102 could use Aim-4F/G, here is someone detailing why

The Leclercs ARE mid 12.7s at best, objectively.

Only because French mains manage to make them work it doesn’t mean they are great.

What’s great about them?

Their 50mm thick LFP? (which funnily enough should be 35mm lmao)

Their 250mm KE UFP? (which should be 570, like the main glacis, and bounce off way more)

Their cheeks that are only able to stop low-end fire?

Their 85mm thick mantlet that’s 1/3rd of the turret surface?

Their 575mm pen at point blank?

Their “fuel tanks exploded” floor tanks?

Their acceleration that’s worse than a Leopard’s despite being 6 tons lighter?

Their basket filled with FCS and electronic modules?

12.0 M1A1 AIM and Leopard 2A4M are better.
