Defficient shell (for 12.7), inexistent armor, slow reload, cramped… like, I’m sure it’s great at its BR, but in a BR where you’ve got 4x Leclercs, I can’t see it having more use than those!
I think those are generally not much for me, hahah. I prefer better all-rounders with some degree of survivability over really fast things that trade off everything else for said speed!
Playstyles, I guess, hahah.
Specially since not only is Leclerc’s UFP underperforming, but ALSO its mobility lmao.
56 ton Leclercs accelerate slower and feel more sluggish than 63 ton Leopards, it’s not even funny at this point.
EMBT will be unironically far better protected AND more agile than the Leclercs.

How much more unique would Leclerc XLR have been? Just a Leclerc S.XXI with AZUR. (gameplay wise)
EMBT on the other hand brings a pretty unique combination that will have its own playstyle and bring a brand new hull to France.

Until Gaijin rebalances top-tier missiles, the SM2 and R-77-1 will remain the undisputed top dogs.
It really sucks having MICAs that are still limited to a 50km range which isn’t even the manufacturer’s max range for the IR version. The PL-12s have terrible tracking and maneuverability following their rework. I still can’t wrap my head around why the AIM-120 turns so poorly (even though it’s the standard missile for three-quarters of the aircraft in the game), and Israel lacks modern missiles—just like everyone else, for that matter.
Meanwhile, the Russians have the R-77-1, which hits speeds over Mach 5 and has excellent maneuverability. (There’s no real competition for this missile much like the R-27ER when it first launched.)
The EMBT will also remain better protected than the leclerc even if the latter is fixed.
And if it really uses the 2A7V hull it should also get the 2A7V’s hull spall liners, meaning it will also offer better hull survivability than the Leclercs.

with more unfinished ships making thier way into the game with the HMS lion, im hoping we might see more in the future (im still coping for HMS minotour but it was never laid down but did have the guns built for her so she is more then just a blue print)

Given that modernized ammunition is already pretty hush-hush, the Shard is even more so. And the game focuses mainly on hardness and length.
That’s exactly why Leopard shells have such high penetration: long gun, long penetrator.
In the game, the depleted uranium shell underperforms compared to the tungsten one, even though the manufacturer claims the exact opposite regarding the Leclerc’s gun performance with these two types of ammunition.
It is obvious that the penetration calculations in the game are completely flawed. While it works for the game mechanics, it also creates issues like this.
I know, and it’s a real shame, because we’ve gone from one of the best flight models to one of the worst for the Eurocanards.
