Next Major Update "Sky Odyssey" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

I have seen on statshark that the buffed dev server AIM 7s are way better than the current ones. How likely is this to be in the final update? And how much of a difference will this make to the low tier sparrows?

All ARH missiles have been massively buffed in dev

@Stona_WT I think this might be worth a forum post/dev blog, no?

Most, not all

You can bug report it here: Gaijin.net // Issues (just search a bit first so that you don’t report something that is already reported and known about)

A guide on how to report bugs can be found here: ([Navigation] Technical Knowledge Base | War Thunder Wiki)

Changelog my dude 😎

man if there was only a place where they list changes

I think the change is big enough to warrant a devblog, especially since they are asking for feedback.

In a Br where only 2-3(?) other tanks have LRF. It will be extra useful in a full uptier tho

With all due respect, it’s only on the dev server dev server. For all we know it could still considerably change before release, which makes them tricky subjects for devblogs.

So are the regenerative steering changes? That will completely change gameplay in ground, just as these missile changes are set to completely change top tier air. Just feels too important to not have an official thread explaining the changes.

If properly implemented (which can be a big if when it comes to Gaijin) it won’t do much for overall top tier ground gameplay.

It will only significantly change top tier gameplay if they botch the implementation, like they did with the Leo 2’s regenerative steering. However killing off a whole series of top tier MBTs isn’t what I would consider a positive change to top tier GRB.

No, it will completely change ground no matter what. It will be a good change, as you won’t be able to instantly change direction at top speed anymore/drift your tank, thus making blind rushing much more riskier. This is a good change (like the ARH buffs) but it is still a change.

is the r77-1 overtuned? or fine as is? I know it is the devserver and everything is “subject to change” just look at the clip

video

it achieves 80 degrees of AOA, I’d say it way too much.

I have used it in the Type 10s and properly implemented RS is not the game changer you make it out to be.

Looking at your profile I assume you have only tried RS on the Leo 2s? Which currently have a severely bugged implementation of RS.

^^^^^Another example why these changes likely aren’t getting a devblog (yet).

I haven’t even tried it. But I know that you cannot drift your tank at top speed anymore. That is a big change lol

Yes it is likely still overtuned. But I think a devblog should be posted, if not now then early next week.

Welcome to the new age, gonna miss all old War Thunder missiles, thankfully I’ve lived through them!

All of the missiles currently reach impossible AoA on launch

That checks out.

Still seems plenty quick to me:

The video wouldn’t load directly on the forum, so the link to the clip will have to do.
