the Su-27s in indonesian service were export Su-27S/SM aircraft and the only Su-30 i am aware of them having was the Su-30MK2.
They had Su-30MK and Su-30MK2, and Russia offered a Su-30KI that would’ve been a very unique Su-30, and it was designed just for Indonesia in mind. They bought it iirc but the Asian Financial Crisis ended up with the delivery and production never going through.
Those were the ones Indonesia ended up buying and servicing, the Su-27SK/SKM (Indonesia is the only SKM operator) and the Su-30MK/MK2.
The Su-30KI was an earlier offer of an Su-27SK variant (not entirely sure why they called it Su-30) for Indonesia that was cancelled because of the financial crisis in 1997. Interestingly enough this one went full circle, and that same aircraft ended up as the prototype for the Su-27SKM that Indonesia ended up buying and still operate today.
Su-30KI
I see they have taken in brick lessons from Denmark : P
That’s only a render so far. Yet to have a actually prototype
bit too early for that specific variant, as far as I know it’s still in the design phase, and what we’ve seen is a 3D render. But other variants like a greek leopard 1A5 or a Leopard 1V (the former Dutch variant) would be great to see coming in the meantime though
So ok let me get this into my head June update brought Aussie Abrams, November update brought the Arjun and now the October update could be bringing in the Olifant 1B. Tell me this isn’t cool
Now we’ll just need something Canadian, and we’re golden!
Yes the Canadian Leo and perhaps if we are pushing it a Challenger from Jordan lol
Tried to make a suggestion about that as the armour is made but unfortunately got rejected as the armour was on top of a mock-up turret and not a real one, I hope in May 2027 to see it together with the Leopard 2HEL having Iron Fist or Trophy
British commonwealth is better than the Polish one : P
I meant the Su-30KI, which is an Su-27 derivative (and later became Su-27SKM). It’s not related to Su-30 at all.
The name seems to be purely a marketing thing, but I don’t really see why this would be done only for this one attempt to sell the Su-27 to Indonesia.
If that ever happens
Weak

1 vs 3 or more countries
weak*
Lately they have been a lot of meetings with the Isreali companies about the subject, and an upgrade to the Leopards is long overdue in Greece
