That is a good question, But i really don’t know the answer, maybe a better engine with a new aam-4B ?
pretty much just AAM-4B and AAM-5, theres not really any other upgrades to the F-2 (atleast that i know of) besides armament.
Its not like the F-15J thats slowly recieved increment upgrades or tested new equipment that never made it to service (eg MAWS, IRST Pod and nose pod, ECM, etc.)

Depending on what version they want to give us as the kit the F2 could use is pretty strong A2A wise with AAM4B’s, AAM5’s and 6’s might be a development *

I’d kill just for the Japanese MoD to release SOMETHING on the HMD they tested on the F-2. We have a picture of it, we just need to know if it was on an unmodified F-2 or not pretty much.
