Ofc it hasn’t as long as the vehicle has been made is all that matters
listen to what she said, a lot of the vehicles in this game were never even intended for service
For adding the next generation of vehicles I would imagine it is an important consideration - tons of things change between technology demonstrators, prototypes and in service vehicles. Gaijin aren’t exactly known for keeping that sort of thing up to date…
something something gripen
It. Does. Not. Matter.
Using vehicles not currently in service as an argument in favour of adding a new type of ordnance guidance is a thin argument. I’m not saying they will not be added to Warthunder, but they are unlikely to be dictating that sort of addition.
or they can just add prototypes and demonstrators, like they already have (2S38 was added as a demonstrator, Chally 3 in game is a tech demo, etc.)
CR3 ingame is not the CR3 that we will see in service with that sort of suite either, which is exactly what I am getting at here.
3 were Cypriot
Because it’s a tech demo for challanger 3.
Well yeah, it’s called the Challenger 3 Tech Demonstrator in-game
Correct. Which is… exactly what I am getting at here.
Adding tech demos and prototypes that DO NOT HAVE what you are talking about completely negates the argument that adding them with that sort of suite would be a good counter. Because they do not have that kind of suite.
WHEN the Leo2A8, CR3 and such are added to the game, then yes, the argument would hold water. But as of right now, it does not.
If we know its slated to get said suite, then its likely prototyped, and therefore can be added through that. I agree we need more counters but these vehicles can still technically be implemented w/ them in game before they enter production irl.
Which is barely ever enough information for Gaijin. We can’t even get the Challengers to have their proper turret behaviour based off of clear images, let alone a highly restricted sensor suite.
Reminder that these systems have been added to prototype vehicles if they prototyped them.
With enough documentation for the systems, I would imagine.
I love that channel
Not really. Sep V2 got rosy and lws basic one 1 limited trial iirc 🤷♀️ the information needed is actually basic
Rosy and LWS aren’t even slightly as complicated to model.
I don’t mind adding the YF-23 in a configuration it actually had provisions for, or even equipment that was intended for the YF-23. What I do mind is making up an armed configuration for an unarmed (or in this case just insufficiently armed/equipped) demonstrator just based on a different planned aircraft.
Again, even if the F-23 is a paper design that can’t be added, making a fictional one instead is not the right call.
Think of it this way, even if F-22 was never built, that wouldn’t mean giving all of the F-22s service equipment to YF-22 would be a real aircraft. It would be just as fictional as it is now, because it adds capabilities to an aircraft it simply never had, and that were never intended.
It’s very surprising to hear there was no physical progress on the F-23. Did they really not build at least a single component for it? If so then yeah, I understand that it doesn’t even make it to unfinished prototype.
