To some extent yes, but no one is probably realistically going to expect a missile to have shot them down while they’re still 80km from the targets.
the SM-6 is a fairly maneuverable missile
only proposals
inherently not true but it doesn’t really matter in most contexts
The most air-to-air missile loadout (16).
(Also, hopes and prayers)
Get ready for a reskinned AIM-120D with a slightly higher loft
The EX doesn’t carry that operationally. AMBER racks on the pylons were only ever put on there as a proof of concept.
It gets 4 more AAMs on its outer hardpoints, that’s it. EW, Radar and Engine upgrades are its main advantages for AA.
16 missile loadout doesn’t include AMBER racks no?
12 missiles on the default pylons and 4 more through the same MRML pylons that the F-15C GE has in game iirc.
No. The F-15EX has only ever mentioned AMBER, not MRML. It has not been cleared to carry any more AAMs than the GE can.
Doesn’t even operationally have CFTs yet. People are getting way too overhyped for the EX when - unless Gaijin show Western aircraft some favour for once - it’s currently just a cross between the GE and E.
should have slightly better motor, youd get better time to target and a bit more energy left hopefully
it uses MRML on the outer hardpoints. nothing stopping it from using them on the inside.
Can we expect Oplot nerf after this?
And yet the evidence used to give the F-15C GE MRML came as a result of it also being compatible on F-15EX
Good luck trying to convince Gaijin of that when it’s not certified for it.
The Energy retention at Range on the Next Gen Fox 3s will make them VERY dangerous! also what happens if Gaijin gives them Improved Seekers!!! Like a MICA…but at 60-80km…Meteor, 174B ext ext
like with the Su-27/Su-30 extra R-77, or Eurofighter extra AIM-120, or french air force Rafale, or even the F-15C GE itself?
the EX gets a completely new modern central computer, they just haven’t officially certified it because IRL they are almost always going to have drop tanks on those stations
FBW go brrrr
The EX is simply not going to get an extra 4 AAMs over the GE just because. It’s being far too overhyped, as is any jet that is barely 2 years into its service life.
Not how that works and you know it
Except it does??
Su-27SM through to Su-30SM2 is using a Su-35 thing when it’s never been seen on those.
F-15C GE having 4 extra missiles because of something that was compatible on F-15EX and was proven to also be compatible backwards on the F-15C would naturally mean the F-15EX would get it?
All aircraft which needed it. The EX having the same number of AAMs as the GE - which is already a pretty damn well performing aircraft - does not mean it’s going to get a buff.
They haven’t officially certified it because you do not need 16 AAMs.
No? Gaijin deny things like that for balance literally all the time. They’re not going to just randomly add 4 more AAMs unless it starts underperforming - which it won’t, especially if the GE’s performance is anything to go by.
