give it AIM-120B and AIM-9L
I think there is no room to delay it one by one like you said. You can’t give one tech tree 5 gen, and nothing for other. So rush is the only way. F-35 for all EU and US, Su57 for USSR tree, J-20 and J-35 for China. And later in 2027, F-22 with best stealth cover RCS.
And regarding delay, they already delayed it from 2025 to 2026
I don’t think there needs to be any rush to add fifth gens. We are still lacking many key mechanics such as EW and proper datalink modelling in game. Without such things the addition of fifth gens will be broken.
I can see the F-35/SU-57/J-20 in December. If that’s the case, i believe that we have to see ECM, prob this next major or just introduced alongside the jets in December.
Gaijin adds ECM exclusively on 5th gens
Idk i feel like adding 5th gen and not adding the F-22 specifically is odd especially if they are going to add Su-57 and J-20/35 at the same time as the F-35s (there is no way gaijin would add 5th gen without throwing something Russias way in particular and there is nothing else they can give them)
why are we already rushing towards 5th gen?
Probably because the F-35 solves the tech tree distribution problem
Issue is the Su-57 and J-20 would be in a different league than the F-35’s and J-35 in-game. BVR always devolves into furball dogfights which those 2 hold a big advantage in with their flight performance (although J-20 will be lacking a gun so won’t be as oppressive as the Su-57).
So you either have:
- F-35 and J-35 added in one update leaving Russia with no 5th gens.
or - F-22, Su-57, J-20 added but it leaves out the rest of the TT’s that can only get F-35’s.
So I reckon it will end up as just a whole 5th gen update. That way they leave no nation without, even if their respective 5th gens may be at a disadvantage in how the game goes.
They can always just give Russia the Su-75 prototype no?
After it takes it’s first flight, maybe.
It’s basically in the same boat as the F-15IA is, we know it’s planned and we know some of what is planned for it but it keeps getting pushed further back past each deadline and specifics are incredibly vague.
It doesnt exist in any flying form currently so i doubt it. The only other options would be to give them an F-35 from idk the Czechs.(terrible option and wont happen for obvious reasons) or to pull something even more ridiculous out of their hat and add the Su-47 or MiG 1.44 with some BS weapons fit neither were intended to have irl. (also terrible and probably wont happen)
So the only real option at this point is Su-57 and nothing else.
the J-35 is a pretty capable jet, i wouldn’t discredit it too much. it can take 6 folding fin PL-15 internally
F-35 will only do well if they give it AIM-424 so it can do 2x AIM-260 and 2x AIM-424
Im actually thinking they will give all of them Meteor using a similar logic to them giving all the Eurofighters the same weapons fit initially.
I actually just had a thought. (Dangerous i know) but if they arent adding the F-22 this year than i suppose YF-23 is an option.
Yeah it’s a capable jet but with it likely given it’s flight performance is speculated to be pretty similar to the F-35 it will always end up losing the long fight in the current game as all fights end up as close in dogfights. In that regard the Su-57 would end up dominating if just the F-35’s, J-35, and Su-57 is added so each nation has atleast 1 5th gen.
wouldnt be nearly as powerful as the AIM-424, with that you get something to make up for its subpar flight performance in speed and climb
it does have the 2nd or 3rd best loadout of any 5th gen, but personally i dont think J-35 will be part of the first 5th gen wave
if there is not IIR (or next gen IR missiles) until then J-35 would be china´s first 5th gen most likely, as it doesnt need to sacrifice 2x missile just cause there arent PL-10´s in the game
If IIR isn’t being added then F-22 should be one of the first since it can use AIM-9M
J-20 as far as i am aware is literally unable to take any IR par the PL-10 and would just be stuck with useless side IWB´s
And psure the F-22 was rejected for this year was it not?
they might be wanting to save the most hyped 5th gen for when they have polished them enough if 5th gens come this year
