I don’t know if they currently are, but I’d expect them to still be the big ones with loads of AA
They are the biggest I think but not the size needed for something like AA fully loaded C-5
Why are you so convinced that they are going to add a C-5?
Gen 4.5 would benefit more than gen 5 imo. The problem will be that gen 5 will be hard to detect. ECM/ESM would make them more easily detectable and traceable as long as they have their radar turned on.
Many Gen 4.5 also have IRST capabilities which would allow them to fire while the radar is turned off, which is not the case of the F22 for example, so they’ll be less impacted by gen 5 ECM
ECM will also significantly improve survivanility against the long range ARH which might come soon of every aircraft in the game
even a fully loaded c-17 doesn’t have enough space in game and C-5 being added because why not? its the peak of military cargo planes
Why would space matter? Especially on the size of maps we have (128x128km right now and a seperate 256x256km in the future), there is absolutely no need for giant cargo planes like the C-5 or An-124/225.
They are most likely gonna add some cargo helis and a couple of the smaller cargo planes, stuff that would be able to take off from small airfields and land on small airfields.
so I looked it up and C-5 needs 8,000FT of runway to takeoff and c-17 7,700 feet yea… more space needed

There is though, the need is that they are cool as hell.
Just with a bit of reworking they could work in-game.
But we will have to wait and see what exactly Gaijin does with all this first.

I mean that doesn’t really make sense.
So they will have the advantage with stealth but then also be able to use jamming where as gen 4 can only use jamming.
If they implement stealth as just a detectibility Nerf and engagement range Nerf it won’t be that strong on its own and it would get a lot stronger when coupled with more advanced mechanics like jamming and HOJ.
If for example they just have the jet show up on your radar at 50-70km instead of 200+ and your missile is able to lock on before launch at 20-30km instead of 40+
That alone isn’t that strong, but if you shrink the distances even further with jamming it’s more of a buff for Gen 5 than Gen 4 imo

stealth doesn’t make a plane have a invisibility cloak or ECM doesn’t do that its really for balance to give J-16 for example a chance against F-22 (stealthy) , ECM Jams radars and tricks them while stealth stays fully hidden attempting to remove the need to use jamming at all because there is nothing to jam if the enemy cant get a proper lock so think of how chaffing in a notch tricks radar seeking missiles that’s what ECM is supposed to do or close to it and think of seeing a jet but not being and to hard lock it for stealth
I really wouldn’t expect anything larger than a C-17, A400M or Il-76

At the start yeah but later on I can definitely see the likes of the C-5 and others being added.
Still waiting for the modern tech tree variants of these aircraft as well.
For compensation I’ll take the remaining strategic bombers (cough, Mirage IV + Vulcan) or supersonic bombers. Or the one in-service stealth bomber.

EA18G would use some of the best ECM in the game when Added its a SEAD plane (that can do Air to air) but its not 5th gen its 4.5 meaning ECM planes would be notching kings f-35 does get ECM and stealth which I don’t understand how that will end with game balance
