Yeah, but vehicles like the AMX-30 (1972), which is probably the closest equivalent to the Leopard 1, have a player count roughly eight times lower than the Leopard. The French 7.7 lineup is great, and it doesn’t have any BeNeLux vehicles around it either, yet it’s still far less popular than most German vehicles around the same BR with only the AMX-50 Surbaissé going over 200k matches. Germany simply seems to be much more popular overall, likely because it’s a far more well-known nation in the armored vehicle world.

rejoice Challanger players no ready rack buff for you
Yeah I never said Germany wasn’t more popular, I’m just pointing out that when it comes to French player counts you can’t use the EMBT counts as representative as it’s being artificially suppressed because it’s behind the BeNeLux vehicles which aren’t drawing players in
As for the AMX-30 vs Leopard 1 debate, that’s likely in large part because so many players stick to 7.7.
You can see 7.7’s outsized popularity by comparing France and Germany’s rank V store premiums, where France reaches about 70% the play count
This is a big part of why I think there’s some weird decisions being made regarding the French tree, because clearly there’s a playerbase willing to play the tree and buy French vehicles, and said playerbase has far less interest in German/American/British designs
So much so that because the top French ground premium is the 2a4, France is the only tree where more you see more games played in the rank V premiums than in the Rank VII premiums
This specific data is old, but the trend holds true today as well
Well lads, do we cope for trailer?
Def possible, id cope
No.
I’ll still cope, I need a reason to procrastinate my work
When vodbleg?
No, the Abrams with Trophy APS has been in service for a few years by now. I’m not sure if it has seen actual combat, but it’s not a prototype.
I personally doubt it unless its the dreams come true event
Now I can play with my first tt F-15.
