Not really, when it was in response to you saying that all the advanced jet trainers and related families, which the T-2 is, have been added in the last 2 years.
Regardless, I’m well aware that there is not a set date that each airframe can or should have been added to the game by. But the Hawk is one of the most successful, widespread, and prolific light fighters of the Cold War, used by a significant number of the trees/sub nations in game. The fact we are only seeing it in 2026, 13 years after jets were added to War Thunder, is objectively a significant delay.
It seems like it’ll still be weak, but at least it will offer something in return with Trophy, better survivability, a RCWS 30mm and hopefully a better shell.
The current EMBT in game is just a sad excuse of a tank.
Interesting, I just looked up a report for it. It seems the Super Hornet will have options available, but as it takes more and more pods like TADIRCM (x2) and Legion IRST, less and less pylons will be available for weapons and fuel tanks.
TADIRCM is the only issue, IRST21 pod (LEGION is for F-15 and F-16) is actually a fuel tank with the sensor attached to the front, and it goes on the centerline station
I think its pretty clear what aircraft I was referring too, as its quite logically noticeable when they started:
None of which are comparable to the T-2. Which was introduced for entirely different reasons.
Again, there’s no delay there at all. The Hawks arrived within the same timeframe as their peers. Each of which got their own time in the spotlight and chance to appreciated rather than lost in a bundle.
If we added all “iconic” aircraft years ago, there is very little of interest to ever add in the future, save for the super modern things. People who don’t take interest in modern vehicles are left with nothing to ever look forward too.
We add successful, widespread, and prolific members of lots of aircraft (and tanks for that matter) families all the time from all different ranks. The Iconic P-47 Razerback family for example came much later than its bubbletop versions. Early P-51s came later. Things like the Hummel have come just this year for Germany. Not to mention aircraft of the Century series and many others.
The main takeaway being, following your logic, if we simply had a mad rush to add everything that could be “iconic” years ago, the subsequent additions are appreciated and enjoyed less and less. People that don’t care for modern vehicles have nothing to ever really look forward to or appreciate.
New vehicles added to lower ranks that are not top tier, especially ones that are exciting, popular or famous are a key source of enjoyment for many people.
