Next Major Update - Rumor Roundup & Discussion (Part 1)

And none of them have combat capable weapons

So Argentina with Spain then : P

they go to germany replacing the swiss. weirdly a lot of german ancestry there for some reason and their only notable armour is all german tech

Nah just easier to add Spain good excuse for the Ha-1112 & 09’s then

The view that sub-nations should only be fillers, and unique ones at that, ultimately suggests the system shouldn’t exist in the first place. Because at that point, whats the difference between a split nation the get one vehicle a decade and a sub-nations their isn’t any.

I do believe how problematic this view is could be easily seen with the 1A5BE discourse, where even if it came with the proper service ammo, if it wasn’t replaced with a one-off prototype, it shouldn’t be added.

So here are a few things sub-nations can’t have:

Service vehicle
Things that share a part with something else
Things that share play style with something else.
And more.

Ultimately, a line-up made using service C&P will always be more interesting than a line-up limited to prototypes just to keep the nation “unique”.

Now a line-up of both would be ideal, but that would be properly leaning into why the sub-tree system got popular in the first place: proper representation. Sadly, people hate that if it’s for any nation outside the big 3 + France, I’ve noticed.

why does there have to be a copy paste lineup for every nation under the sun? it just makes more sense to focus on the ones that actually make a good amount of stuff

And how much nations is this going to be?

Knowing most claim everything in Eastern Europe that doesn’t have a home.

But this is someone who knows you, so my guess is every nation that isn’t Russia to come out of the USSR + the remaining Warsaw Pact members.

Either way, a lot of nations for the limited room.

Because you lads exported those, and those nations used them as service vehicles.

If some nations are run out of ‘unique and good vehicles’, ‘unique but worthless vehicles’
Then what, should we let them have no new vehicles at all?

so add them to our tree. very simple, no need for F-16’s in france or Su-30’s in Japan

eventually it is going to happen, there are only so many vehicles in the world

With that damn theory,
-You lads got Stingray, which Congress never bought, and it should’ve been a unique light tank for Thai (And it is funny that Japan/Thai gets blamed for C&P)
-You lads stole Skink, which had no direct connection between the US Army and vehicles, and its only connection is ‘Based on Grizzly hull which is a licence-built Sherman’. And you lads have even more Skinks than the nation which has a direct connection with that project.

Thanks to people like you, we don’t have
-Buffalo Mk.1, which is literally worse than F2A-1/3
-Caribou/Airacobra Mk.1, which was an export variant of the P-39 and exists only in US TT in the P-400 namesake
-Mustangs with Merlin engine
-M24 Chaffee, which we operated
-And Sabre F.4, base of both CL-13 Mk.4 [ITA] and F-86E(M) [ISR]

eventually it is going to happen, not because there are only so many vehicles in the world, but because major nations use ‘Tech-Tree uniqueness’ as a gatekeeping tool.

Imagine the Japanese air tech tree if we totally gut imported vehicles out,
It is VEEEERY FUNNY AND BALANCED when you need to jump straight from Ki-84 6.3 to T-2 [9.7] /F-1 [10.0], then F-2 [13.0]?

Alright then, let it happen,
Make more sense, focus on the ones that actually make a good amount of stuff, no more ‘c&p slop’
Only nations which have a good amount of stuffs has rights to get new vehicles (USA, USSR, GER, France as examples), while other nations are rightfully starved for decades since ‘service vehicles’ are C&P slop.

Hope you like it.

Not exactly the same.

Eurofighters lacked FnF (and before that, any SAL capability) CAS capability. No shortage of BVR missiles on any F-35

(Also taking a look at the distinct lack of HOSBO or whatever it’s called on any other Eurofighter…)

that doesnt make it a Thai tank now does it?

thats a pretty big connection

at least UK operated those, France never used the F-16 and Japan definitely did not use the Su-30

dont have an issue with stuff like F-15J but when the 3rd hornet is added to the UK or the 10000th leopard 2a4 is added, it gets excessive

What’s funnier is that the Grizzly hull was used, as that is what Canada had but was never meant to be permanently part of the Skink; what the “Skink” is is the turret, just that.

It was done as a project to fulfill a joint requirement both Canada and the UK(the only two nations to use it in “service”) had; well, the US rejected it without testing.

So to claim the US has a connection means they’re claiming every non-domestic vehicle the US tested is connected to the US, eg., claiming the world.

ah yes, ignore the origin of everything below the turret because it was renamed and some of it was license produced

No? it is a thai tank when
-Gage Cadillac developed for export
-US Congress ditched those from AGS project
Then if Thailand didn’t buy those from Gage Cadillac, then there might be no Stingray in this world, just like how Challenger 1 might have gone if we didn’t purchase dead-stock of FV4030 Shir 2.

If that is a pretty big connection, how about automatically adding every 105mm M68 US tank to the UK TT since those are licensed versions of the L7A1, while adding every M256 tank to the German tech tree when those are licensed versions of the Rh120? 🤷‍♀️

Belgium/Dutch operated the F-16, and Indonesia operated the Su-30, just like how we operated those vehicles.

Then, if we consider BeNeLux or ASEAN weren’t a subtree of France/Japan, and added as 11/12th main nation of War Thunder.
Would you lads admit it? No? Look at israel and the Chinese Tech Tree, and you blokes complain about C&P.
“Those C&P Slop TT should’ve never existed!” kind of things.

How about adding every aeroplane to US TT since the Wright Brothers invented it.

And add every vehicle to the Italian tech tree since all roads lead to Rome.

whatre you going on about, if it competed in AGS then of course it would have existed regardless of Thailand. they picked it after it was made

US could be fine without skink if gaijin chose domestic option over copy paste, funny we do agree after all. but entire chassis is more than a gun.

this is what i was talking about with “every nation under the sun”, theres no good reason to dilute the uniqueness of other tech trees to add these F-16’s outside of skins, premiums, or events.

would have been absolutely horrible.

you just want to see every vehicle spammed to every tree imaginable for the sake of it, there is no real reason, lineups are a self imposed restriction and you can take a single vehicle into every regular gamemode if you want to play that specific nation so badly

Funnily enough isnt restricting vehicles to specific nations only also being somewhat limiting, genuine question
