Its a little unclear what you mean here. We cannot “ban” spesific datamines and leave others.
As always, its best to wait for official announcements and news to get proper information. If people want to get ahead of themselves by looking at datamines, they do that.
I mean, it isn’t the dataminers fault that Gaijin added files to the game 12hrs+ earlier than the dev blog associated with them being posted. And you can’t ban these kinds of datamines without banning effectively all datamines, which would make a lot of people very unhappy.
Well, like, such datamaines related to a major update are, in my opinion, considered a fairly serious information leak before its official announcement. Here, everything is word for word, image for image, and the element of surprise from the devblog is completely lost.
By the same logic, many people want to know which vehicles will be included in the update before its official announcement, don’t they?
Fair enough, but for whichever they pick so long as there’s a skin for the other I shall be content. Both ways works for me, I just want my ability to larp as both not to be hindered :)
datamines read what is being added/changed ingame (well mainly on the WIP client), you should expect to be spoilered by a few hours or day when reading them, its the whole point of em, to see whats being changed/added without mention
Yes, I understand, but most often it’s just minor information, not an entire devblog.
So, tomorrow I would have been interested, thinking, “What will they show in the devblog today?” but it was just leaked a day before the official announcement, and the point of waiting for some unexpected devblog tomorrow is lost. That’s how I think
Maybe it’s interesting for you, but after they banned merge vehicles lists for updates, I started to like the surprise effect, it’s really cool.
Unfortunately things that involve the client sometimes need to be uploaded beforehand in preparation for update deployment. There are at times, no means around this. Particularly when its things involving the in game pop-up.
The same happens with pre-orders too. There is no way of not “pre-uploading” things like the decals and titles, that people can see a few hours before the packs go live.
Vehicle movements happen each major, some minor, others less so. Again, I would recommend waiting for official news for the full information.
If you don’t wish to be spoiled on things not yet confirmed, the best solution is not to look at datamines. We had this just the other day when someone was complaining about the Nuclear Thunder start date, which wasn’t even confirmed, but simply datamined.
The comparison here is not the same. This is simply the movement of some existing vehicles.
