Hi smin are you able to forward some bug reports for me? They appear to have gone unnoticed for awhile now, and a response would be appreciated thanks

Ouch then, the roll bar is a serious weakness for a tank that is already tall.

Like, if you hit it with HE/HE-FRAG you can kill the tank.

anything new? just asking not to be a bother

That’s the fun part, Smin knows, but he’s not always at liberty to speak about it.

So yeah, there’s always something new, just not something we plebs are allowed to know yet

i am asking about something i pinged him about…

Oh… I see

there been any news on the APFSDS for the Sabre mk2? or is it still at 8.3 with nothing over the warrior (cant wait for the monkey paw to curl and the warrior gets up br to 8.7)

The big issue is it’s not really clear if some of the additions actually make the tree viable, and to build off of GaraGudubet‘a point, a lot of trees are losing what aspects make them feel unique

A big example that I’ll point to is the Leopard 2a5nl’s. It’s a microcosm of the issue with its subtree. The tank has no line up, doesn’t fill a gap in the French tree, and it adds to the increasing number of German MBTs in the French tree and grind.

My take is that Subtrees should serve three primary purposes:

  1. Filling gaps in primary Trees that can’t be filled with domestic designs by adding unique Subtree designs

  2. Show off the unique designs of said Subtree

  3. Fill gaps in primary trees with imported vehicles in subtree service

A lot of subtree additions have been only been hitting point 3, if even hitting any of those points. While I get that some folks want to run 100% Indonesian/Dutch/Hungarian etc line ups, at some point we might as well just have an Omni tree if every nation is going to completely homogenize and lose their distinct feel

Hopefully we get nations folders soon, so sub-trees stop being treated as if they should only have the negative aspects of sub-nations applied to them and none of the positives.

Negative aspects:

  • Lack of space
  • Few additions (one a year usually)
  • Often missing one or more sides of their military vehicles.
  • Used as filler for host

Positive aspects:

  • Semi-common and large number of additions
  • The addition of historically or otherwise important additions to the operator
  • The ability to make line-ups of the operator.
  • Allowing representation of underrepresented nations in vehicle-based games

Well, Gaijin isn’t the best at it; they do see the good in staying true to the positives of the sub-trees system. It’s just the issues with the system (which can even be found in the South African sub-tree), reinforcing the negatives.

It likely does help that Gaijin has built itself around operators and not vehicles as WOT did. And it the only reason so many players still play WT, because despite how horribly Gaijin treats homeless/split nations (covering premiums in symbolism that connected to another Nation, making all of the modern stuff premium, giving nations vehicles they had no connection to and even rejected without testing, unlike the nation that already had it(twice at that tow), etc.) It’s also the best treatment outside of a Map game or RTS in the military sphere. Because of that focus, we’ve had “C&P”/duplicates, etc., before ground was a full game mode, as the link vehicle was given out for pre-ordering ground itself, meaning a “copy and paste” Sherman is older than ground battles.

so the classic of british additions of add it over br and we will see how it preforms first at least its going to be cheap on the market place

Another problem is that the RARDEN performance is exceptionally implemented as such so its lack of RoF was compansated with more penetration for its APDS.

APFSDS will improve the gun but slightly. Just like CV9035’s improvement. A few mms.

They’ve had American vehicles ever since their addition back in September of 2019…

Because they used them so boo hoo and cope and for the record Republic of China is still China

I mean we already had several American vehicles in other trees pre China tree.

Besides China didn’t just get American vehicles

I think we better off pushing for spall liners at the moment simply to try to be more survivable.

Oh and to get rid of the HE trap table on the roof (due to no armour on the ammo boxes and no spall liners, currently if you hit the table strut with a HE round you blow the tank up… ye).
