Hopefully they’ll do an update that adds more advanced fighter/trainer aircraft (FA-50, M-346FA, and ofc more hawks.)
Edit: Almost forgot about the Yak130 :p
I want the Nimrod :)
there is so much wrong with this image I hate him so much
Yep, we could have had a basic trainer update with Alpha Strike with the:
- Alpha Jets
- Hawk T.1/100
- Gnat
- F-5F (early version in-line with the F-5E)
- L-39ZA
- T1
- AMX
- MB-326B/K
- SK60F
And then a modern trainer update with stuff like the:
- Hawk 200’s
- FA/T-50
- MB-346
- YaK-130
- F-5F (late version with modernised cockpit and 9L’s)
There’s also plenty of other aircraft groups Gaijin could make an update out of like COIN and Strategic Bombers which would no doubt be good updates but we just keep seeing them push for more and more modern tech whilst forgetting about stuff that isn’t right at the top.
Gaijin would rather add infantry
i dont get all of the hate for infantry if you dont like it dont play their mode its just that simple lol, its like the people that hate naval dev blogs, like sure its not interesting for the vast majority of the player base but naval does have its players. I imagine infantry when its actually open to more people will probably be a pretty fun game mode from everything ive seen
If infantry ends up bringing some stuff into other modes like AI infantry insertion/extraction objectives with helicopters in Sim EC or even WW1 I’d be all for it.
But seeing as it will just most likely be a further drain on their resources I have to agree that it’s a bad idea.
Although after playing the CBT I can’t say it wasn’t fun. Very rough but it has potential however it’s not the right time for it now.
I don’t really care about infantry itself
What I care about it that Gaijin apparently has a lot of resources to spare and instead of using those resources on improving the “main” game, they use those resources to add an entirely new branch of military
I always felt like it would be cool if APCs could “build” anti air or anti tank nests using infantry, similar to how the top tier SPAA can deploy seperate launchers
The building system they were talking about when the ammo crates were added could have included nests like that, but that building feature probably got scrapped/abandoned
its a fair complaint but at the same time from a business stand point seems like a smarter move, what is gonna draw more people in adding strat bombers at a BR where they will be even more food for fighters as most lack self defence weapons or adding infantry that they can shove into all of the new trailers
A building system combined with towed armaments would have been awesome, maybe with infantry we will see something like this? In GRB, each nation has a line of APC’s, and the upgrades could be different squads of guys, such as anti tank, anti air, or just standard infantry. Use standard infantry to attack these towed armament emplacements, which also operate like APC’s except its just standard issue weapons for defense of the armament, and a vehicle that tows a howitzer or something.
The resources they spend on infantry could be used to improve the game in general, rework gamemodes, create better maps, add new (good) mechanics, etc
They seemingly abandoned the Sim modes, the assault modes, Heli PvE and the whole campaign system, maps keep getting worse instead of improving, new tech keeps getting introduced hap-hazardly without properly balancing them, the list goes on.
But, again, the spare resources get used to add infantry while existing modes are just left to rot.
The new World War mode could probably be here already, had they not started working on infantry.
giving IFVs something similar to how armoured warfare did it would be cool where you can sit still and deploy a squad of soldiers that will ambush enemy tanks that get near to it
Not really my main tree, but I guess I do lean towards the US tree a lot.

Also ~30 TT vehicles on my wishlist waiting for the next SL sale.
Mavericks and AIM-9Ps on a Saab 105 would go hard, especially with the ability to mount four Sidewinders while also mounting a gun pod on both sides
I mean, it was a quick and dirty list for a basic update(as far as I can tell), as I know of a few other armed trainers that could come to WT.
Or you could mount the minigun pods and BRRRRT the enemy
