Apparently the older weapons only exist in the files because they are still used a lot by post WW2 militaries.
Also, from what I’ve heard Gaijin is planning to have infantry start at the Korean War era, no plans anything before that.
yeah mostly WW2 stuff there. some postwar equipment but not much. I wonder what CAS will be since they barely had armed helicopters
But that’s my problem with starting at Korea with infantry, if we have tech modelled all the way back too WW1 then why not start the tree then. Sure modern weapons may have a bigger appeal which is properly way gaijin has started the CBT in modern era but far too many games are being made for that era, I can count at least three ArmA, Call of duty, Battlefield. If gaijin want to make Infantry worth it then they gonna have to make it inline to what we already have in other trees.
i think they want to have at least semi automatic as the basic infantry rifle. bolt action for snipers maybe and anti-tank rifles but nothing else
Yeah faster pacing seems to what they want to gain people’s attention with, I’ve seen some of the footage from the WT team and other youtubers and like I’ve said before it just tapping into the wrong market by starting in a era where most if not all FPS already are.
I doubt so, they plan the F-15SG for that purpose
I usually divide the game into roughly:
1.0-5.0: props
5.0-6.7: superprops
7.0-9.0: low tier jets
9.0-11.0: middle tier jets
11.0-13.0: high tier jets
13.3+: top tier jets
But of course the lines are more blurry than that
1.0-5.0 Famous WWII BRs
Required Player Skill: Low-Medium
5.0-6.7 Late Prop age
Required Player Skill: Medium-High
7.0-9.0 Jet Dogfight Era
Required player skill: High-very High
9.0-11.0 Transition to Missile Era/IR Meta
Required Player Skill: High-Medium
11.0-13.0 Transition to BVR Meta
Required Player Skill Medium
13.0-14.3 Pure BVR Meta
Required player skill: Low-Medium
High Skill requirement = Hard/Frustrating to Use aircraft due to Performance or Airframe Quirks or Compression
Low Skill = Easy to use and learn, even absolute Newcomers can Score kills without much Frustration

A-21RB Very high skill requirement due to: Low wing rip speed, little acceleration, low top speed for th BR
Su-30SM2: Low Skill Requirement due to: AESA TWS Radar, 12 R-77-1 Missiles + 2 TVC IRCCM R-73 Missiles, Forgiving Airframe, Usable Engine acceleration and top speed
Pretty much it yup. Though I’m having a bit more trouble at rank 6/7 than at rank 5

It’s wayyyyyy less than say jets fighting with guns. The fact that u get ARH is like skill needed -99%. I do agree some of them suck, but u can also just simplify the playstyle a bit.

Had this ever since the update dropped. I think the amount of people queueing 10.3/10.7 Russia or just the BMPT alone is kind of throwing off the matchmaker.
This might just by me, but fighting more than one or two enemies at a time like I need to when missiles start raising the engagement ranges past 2-3km is a lot harder to me than anything available at the lower BRs.
I’m not saying there’s no or even less skill involved with props, but I personally find it a lot harder to adjust to the higher BRs with just how much is going on at once.
it’s a different skillset but the basics are still true
if you strictly stick to Dicta Boelcke you won’t have to fight 20 different enemies at once
at Prop BRs you too can jump into the Furball and lose every time, in BVR Meta that ball is just Bigger
