As cool as the idea was, I absolutely hated having infantry around.
They’d reveal your position, the gunners were incredibly annoying and the fact that infantry was able to defend points was extremely disruptive.
Stationary weapon emplacements to defend the spawns (and the return of at least some short range AA guns around the heli pads) would be nice, but I don’t think roaming soldiers would be a good idea at all.

Also, infantry would very likely punish people for using tanks without MGs and vehicles with exposed crew

Infantry will most likely only be top tier.
So, no open vehicles.
Also, nations like Russia will excel, since they get vehicles like the BMPT, BMP-2M (with grenade launcher, auto cannon and mg), etc… I have yet to see any NATO nation get an equivalant of these 2, weapons and armour wise. Since no NATO vehicle has the survivability of the BMPT and no NATO vehicle has the weaponry of the BMPT in game yet.
I sure hope we are going to see the BTR-4M and the CCV for the Japanese TT in the upcoming update, since JP is in dire need for better IFV’s and they would be somewhat useable in Infantry mode.

Unless officially denied then yes there’s always a chance for anything, but that chance is pretty small.

Every Tranche 3 is getting one, as they are already fully compatible. The Tranche 2’s need a few minor changes if I recall.
It gets worse and worse with each update. By the summer update I bet it will just stop working altogether.

If the second AESA variants are coming in with the possible upgrades (Germany with IRST even though this is not planned) and planned features (AESA radars), why can’t the second German AESA variant get the possible upgrade of ECRS Mk2?
Some users believe there’s a double standard of using possible upgrades specifically just only for the IRST on the German aircraft, but not extending this possible upgrades to the ECRS Mk2 radar even though it’s not planned.
i mean if they selected the mk1, have mk1s, and are upgrading rest of their fleet to the mk1s, why should they get the mk2?
I hope there will be just new weapons for already added AESA, adding another separate AESA Eurofighter would be a joke and not a funny one.
They also decided to select foregoing the IRST, and are not getting the IRST, why should they get the IRST?
Either German AESA can get IRST AND ECRS Mk2 because it’s a possible upgrade or they don’t get IRST and ECRS Mk2, make it consistent.
