Man, I wish there were more MBTs (or regular gun light tanks) with secondary autocannons, NATO 40mm grenade launchers (actual automatic grenade launchers, not smoke launchers), rocket launchers or even ATGM launchers
It’s a shame stuff like this has only recently really become a “common” feature on real life tanks

Gaijin will tell us we have an M8 already and then point to the unobtainable one. US didn’t operate those M8’s though did they?

The TOW one was being operated by Colombia, but the upgrade was done by an American company (Napco) tho
The AML-90 one was built by GIAT in France, but I don’t think it ever went into service with any nation

I have rewritten the mantlet report as I believe the only one was a bit of a mess, if you do have time to look at them, I would recommend this one over the old one. This dosen’t cover the gun shield though.

XM8 shoulda been an US TT vehicle as M8 Buford (similar to M10 Booker which met the similar fate) … Teledyne AGS, CCVL and others were fine being non-TT
the M8 alts are BAE MPF (XM1302) or the 120 XM8s (AGS 120, Thunderbolt, Lightning Bolt)

The AMRAAM-ER got a report accepted that it should have the 120D seeker head. I dont know if the seeker head have been changed yet, but it could show the difference between the two in game.

100% agree with this (except for CCVL, I like 50% agree with this), and that the XM8 should have been TT. Most likely, if the Lightning bolt or Thunderbolt get added, they will be event vehicles, seeing as how they have unique things to them (though I don’t agree with both being event vehicles). 120 AGS would give us a light tank with a gun larger than 105mm (which we don’t have too many options for), and XM1302 would give us that XM8 style tank in TT (plus an APS on a large caliber light tank).
Closer to CCVL, I think they even used the same hull. Thats why I slightly disagree with the CCVL being an event vehicle, because the british pretty much got a similar vehicle (no autoloader and missing thermals) in their TT. US getting 2 high caliber light tanks locked behind an event back to back (which would have filled BR gaps mind you), and then not getting another one in the TT for 3 years, was some of the worst decision making by Gaijin.

That’s pretty cool, whenever I do research regarding the CATTB or Thumper, I always see that there were 2 different calibers for the same gun, but never looked into it too much.
When can we expect to see an update on what else is getting its turret basket added in coming updates? Been more than long enough since that initial dev blog. You guys seemed pretty adamant the Abrams and Leopards couldn’t be delayed like you did with the FCS modules on Russian and Chinese tanks. I feel safe in making the ststament that a lot of us find it hard to buy any notion there hasn’t been any revised vehicles since then unless the silence on the issue is suppose to be interpreted as “this was really just a nerf for those two families of vehicles as we aren’t actually adding them to other vehicles.”
Any chance on an update on this before/along with the next update?
@Smin1080p_WT when are we going to get the radar gun function on the B-66. Its been several updates now and its still missing this feature
It’s things like this which is disappointing to see missing. A main feature if a vehicle and it’s just completely absent from them.
Also similarly @Smin1080p_WT are you able to say if the retractable gun is being planned to come for the RAH-66 at some point in the future? It was a prominent feature of the Comanche allowing for faster speeds and a lower RCS and it’s a shame that that feature has been omitted from the aircraft.
