But it also splits available lineups, want to make a modern Aussie or Canadian lineup? Well you can’t because the representation, skins or elsewise, is in two (or three) different trees.
Splitting operators has been discussed many times, and I cant be bothered talking about it too much, but it is the worst option for these nations.
The US should also not be split, the P-51 and Spitfire skins should just be moved over to the US model, and removed from the British one and vice versa, no need to split up any of the TTs in game.

Well, it could have been the RAAF F/A-18A, making it so the CF-188 and F/A-18A HUG 2.4 were the tech-tree ones.

Tornado F3 (Op Granby) 4x Aim-9M + 4x Skyflash STs + Phimat would be rather fun at 12.3/12.7
Heck, it would be bad, but Sea Harrier FRS51 could probably cope around 12.7

Saudi Tornado GR4 equivalent (can never remember its name) could have been a decent high BR premium strike aircraft (and i would also not say no to a direct equivalent to the WTD61 at some point)

to be fair some countries have this already so why should some get treated differently
The only think we lacked in that BR range, was a supersonic dogfighter. We’ve got decent subsonic dogfighters and BVR trucks, but there isnt much in the way of a dogfighter, and that is what the F-18s bodged.
Though the Top tier F-18 was a bit of a waste of time and I would have prefered a few other options
