Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion

Future additions tied to infantry, if I had to guess

The one with the armour upgrade could turn out to just be a mod for the existing Scimitar, similar to the armour upgrade mod on the Warrior

The Sabre is probably going to be a SQV, premium or event vehicle

Were there any other Scimitars in the files? I can’t remember…

There were 4, all but Sabre has Plasan modeled, BGTI and Mk.2 had bar armour modeled too, so I doubt they are gonna be mods. Personally if I had to guess: Sabre 7.7 GE premium, LEP 8.0 TT, BGTI 8.7 Pack with APFSDS, Mk.2 8.7 TT with APFSDS.

Idrc though I just want more Scimmies

A FV101 would be nice too

LEP

BGTI

Mk.2

Sabre

That’s not how WT models work. An upgrade mod would still be on the same model. WT models have all nodes visible by default, and then unnecessary ones are selectively hidden as required. E.g. an armour upgrade is on the model, just hidden if you don’t have the modification. Same phenomenon causes all pylons and rocket pods to be visible on aircraft models in CDK or hangar background.

Does that apply to the BGTI and LEP in the files as well?

I really can’t see them adding 3 seperate new Scimitars.

Would also be a bit of an upgrade, LEP, BGTI, and the Mk.2 all have LRFs + Thermals

(HNY btw Gszabi)

Ah, right.

I really don’t know why they would split the Plasan into three variants when the BGTI could just be a mod for the LEP.

Not sure about the Mk.2, it would depend on the Implementation of the Plasan.
If they don’t give the “Mk. 1” Plasan APFSDS it would probably go into the TT, otherwise it’s premium material

Edit: Is the slat armour even tied to the BGTI upgrade IRL?

Anyways, as I’ve said, three seperate Scimitars seems a bit excessive when two of them could be merged into a single entry

Yes. For a more obviously visible example, the T.O.G. II* model has both the armour with and without the howitzer and sponsons, and you can see them glitching:

Spoiler

Both

Sponson nodes hidden

Stock plate hidden

Point is, separate model = separate vehicle.

Happy New Year to you as well. :)

But domestic USAF & USN 3rd gen fighter aircraft never upgrade to 4th gen fighter aircraft technology (post gulf war), for export operated only

The american tech tree lack F-15 (early service) and F-15E (early service)

Not sure but considering how complete they looked I could see at least one come next update.

At the same time we do have the next BP coming up that one could be used for.

Aight, thanks for the clarification.

Guess we’ll have to see what Gaijin is cooking with those models.

I was thinking that maybe one could go to France via Belgium, but as it turns out, they never upgraded their Scimitars.

Honestly hoping they merge the Mk.1 Plasan (LEP and BGTI), but don’t give it APFSDS and add the Mk.2 as a TT variant with APFSDS.
Gaijin can use an export Scimitar as a premium, if they really want to add one.

How much more does the one with the garden fence weigh?

Gaijin

Like don’t get me wrong obviously Gaijin will add what makes them the most money but would it hurt to add some of the older stuff every now and then?

Sabre as the main reward and a random boat as the free reward
Hopefully some interesting planes in the random box reward

Can/Is Kazakhstan (be) considered an USSR subtree (?), coz damn :

Different branches of the tree

The BGTI whilst having better thermals (Same as the warrior in game), it never got the EM235 upgrades like the LEP (better engine with 235HP and final drives etc)

Kinda goes
LEP
|-> BGTI
→ LEP EM235

BGTI Ones where used to support the Challengers, so where deemed the only ones to “need” it iirc.

TBF Some of them might not even see the light of day, Gaijin like to commission similar variants at the same time, even if they don’t come. Personally I’d like to see them all (In folders of course).

The BGTI not sure, but the Mk.2 has a max weight of 12 tonnes with all the addon armour [1]

Sounds soo stupid … when you think about it

Hope the next event is a plane or some very uninteresting ground vehicle …
when is the next event anyway?

Would trade infantry for WW1 vehicles in a heartbeat.

Yup, I’ve got the feeling that either the LEP or BGTI model might end up being unused (for forseeable future at least)

I’d much rather see a Jordanian Scimitar being used as a premium than one of the three in the files

Not a fan of WW1, but I definitely agree
