F-35 wouldn’t be boring, but it would be mid. It’s slower than other 5th gen’s as I understand it, has a lower missiles capacity, and isn’t as maneuverable as others. It’s still more than capable (has all the bells and whistles one would need to succeed), but it’s limited. It would definitly be at a lower BR, near the 4.5 gens.

yeah you can hope that but knowing gaijin and US and Russian mains they will cry they dont get 5th gen IIR missiles like everyone else
I think the part you quoted is the most likely outcome since J-20 has no option but PL-10, and if one stealth jet gets next gen IR they all probably will
so your entire argument falls apart then lmao oh well at least the F-22 will be stuck with the worst 5th gen IIR missile so thats cool at least

They don’t want to add everything in one go? It’s no different from not adding the F-14, F-16, F-15, and F/A-18 in one update
the whole point of the 4.5 getting 5th gen IIR missiles would be to close the gap in stealth if said stealth aircraft also get them then that gap reopens
so either they give 4.5 gens next gen IIR missiles and keep the 5th gens at the current IR missiles or they give everyone their 5th gens

How does the gap open? Isn’t the effective range of almost every IR except maybe the MICA IR’s within the range where you could see the stealth jet on radar anyways?

maybe who knows since it could be delayed to only allow 3 nations 5th gens (when almost all nations in game have a 5th gen option) the only reason I can see someone saying the F-35 shouldnt come is they want to try and stomp as one of the only 5th gens
