Smh just tape a sabre to the nose cone and parry the missile, so simple /j
No not even close
Completely agree, at least when it comes to the ground department!
Particularly, regenerative steering. But also- more MBT fixes; missing spall liners, armor holes, TYPE 10’S GODDAMN STEERING ALREADY, Oplot’s UFP armor… etc.
Could you explain? The most advanced is the r74, which is just an r73 with more off boresight and better IRCCM. Just add that and the IRIS-t, fair
Would be nice, but
this is way more important
ECM yes, ARM only for a seperate mode, CAS still easily beats the SAMs
What’s the requirement for an anologue?
The first officially listed serial production aircrafts were numbered as 39-6002 and onwards and are still owned by SAAB for testing and validation as far as i know (6001 went to Brasil). the 39-8 through 10 are testbeds and prototypes as far as i know.
The serial produced E versions that got delivered to the Swedish defence force are listed as tail number 60x (Source: Redirecting... and Redirecting...) (Interview with people from SAAB; https://skiesmag.com/features/saab-gripen-fighter-jet-canada/ They mention some of the history of the testbeds and prototypes).
Similar era, comparable specs
Unless you are asking why it would be needed, in which case I’d say that there is no need for an analogue/equivalent
My hope is that they rework the missiles before this, just imagine how laughably easy it would be to evade with ECM with the current fox 3 implementation.
It really depends on how ECM is implemented, but yeah, hopefully it will.
Though im hoping for it more for the Tonkas, especially those at 12.3
open world will be great 1000km x 1000km map with awacs and tankers
I don’t think that 's going to happen, a plane as accessible as the JF-17 probably wouldn’t have been the first to have unused loadouts for anti-radiation missiles if they were going to restrict their use in any way at all.
They could technically model “home-on-jam” for the missiles we have, which could kinda bypass how effective ECM ends up being.
Maybe… But that just seems like it would be really messy
Yeah I guess, especially for the stupid amount of missiles in 16v16 lol
39-6001: first serial aircraft delivered to brazil for testing and validation
39-6002 onwards: built for the contract
39-60x: final tail number used by sweden
You are still describing the development and final product, bot the genesis
In that case we’d just be back to tanks getting absolutely obliterated by CAS
SAMs already are easy to counter with the multi vehicle ones being so big that you cannot hide them properly on most maps and so many CAS planes that can carry enough guided bombs and AGMs to overwhelm SAMs
If the Indonesian F-16AM Falcon STAR made the list then I’d also say Thailand has a few unique F-16s once Gaijin realizes that throwing them all together into one mess of a plane isn’t a good idea:
-
F-16A Block 15 OCU
→ First Thai F-16 variant equipped with AN/APG-66(V)1, no HMD and only IR missiles (AIM-9P/P-4/L/M) for air to air. 4 AN/ALE-40 countermeasure dispensers (30 regular or 15 large CMs each). For air to ground they carry AGM-65D/G/G-2, GBU-10/12/16 and KGGB with ATLIS II targeting pod. -
F-16B Block 15 OCU
→ Twin seat variant of the A OCU with largely the same equipment. Some were equipped with DASH HMD and Israeli missiles (Python 3 confirmed, Python 4 also mentioned). -
F-16A/B Block 15 (e)MLU
→ Upgraded F-16 OCUs with new AN/APG-68(V)9 radar, JHMCS and AN/ALE-47 countermeasures (same number as the OCU). This variant can also get new air to air missiles since it has AMRAAM integration (AIM-120C-5/C-7) and carries IRIS-T. For air to ground the weapons are the same as the OCU again, but with Sniper XR targeting pod
There could also be an ADF, but it’s the same as the ones in game already with the only difference being that it carries AIM-9M and AIM-120C-5/C-7 in service.
I wonder if Gaijin would pull a Gripen and give all Hawk 200’s Skyflashes?
Would be nice IMO
Yooo, Karel Doorman!!
Can’t wait to see them being added in War Thunder PC!!
