Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion

Precisely, slap a new skin on it and job done.

Tuskforce could have been ideal with only HMS Saumarez in the TT.

It’ll slam into the ground via multi pathing at even further ranges.

I’m seeing a distinct lack of Scandanavian flags…

Oh come on now, for all we know, this could easily mean that the radar was tested on a testbed that the Air Force itself has, doesn’t inherently mean it’s fielded or anything of that sort.

Arguing over distinctions, I could easily say that the aircraft ingame is actually supposed to be F4.1 and should be renamed to that, and that carries more validity.

So now we got the M55.
What about the 2S7? Seems like a pretty funny vehicle to play

The latest update prediction mentioned PL15, to be honest, I don’t think this missile is suitable for the next update. It is the most advanced model among the medium range air-to-air missiles already in service in reality, and its actual performance may be even better than the 120D R77M Meteor
If the prediction is true and this missile really appears in the next version, then there will only be three scenarios

  1. Just like the version where F14A joined the game, it directly changed the game environment for top-level aerial combat matches, and I really doubt if this kind of treatment will really be given to Chinese TT
  2. Gaijin severely weakened the performance of PL15 in the game, making its performance similar to missiles such as the 120C R77-1 currently in the game. This will undoubtedly cause strong protests from Chinese players and it is unnecessary to add alternatives like PL12later
  3. With the addition of advanced missiles with similar performance such as the 120D R77M Meter mentioned above to PL15, this is great, but this workload is undoubtedly a challenge for gaijin

I mean allegedly they already weakened the performance of the PL12 and the reactions were ignored anyway.

My guess is they folder the Mirage 2000 with either the J-10A or F-16A MLU.

The name “PL12” is similar to “AIM120”, with different models and performance versions. We can assume that Gaijin provided the earliest version with relatively poor performance, but there are also interviews with missile designers proving the existence of PL12 with performance close to 120C5

Someone skeptical might then ask, “how exactly would those Chinese missile designers know the classified range performance of a foreign missile (120C5)?”

yes 8t does since EFs with AESA have been 8n service with Qutar since 2017

let me ask you, when did the rafale f3r enter service, or even the f4.1

Technically that’s a different aesa radar though

There is no question that these aircraft have been in service and fielded with those countries, and if I’m being honest, European countries could have easily chosen to field them a decade ago if they really wished to, it just wasn’t a priority. Still doesn’t make it fully operational however for in-game tech tree countries.

  • Qualified by the French MoD in 2018 for the Rafale F3R
  • Initial operating service in 2019
  • Fully operational service in 2021

Qatar uses Mk0 yeah? Would be interesting if the leaked AESA Typhoons end up using Mk2 and etc.

Ya. Though mk0 and 2 are essentially the same, while mk1 is just plain ol worse for wt due to worse gimbal

I think so

or rather I very much expect it to be 120C/9M only

BUT Just as the F-16C50 was when it was introduced I believe that this is going to be only for the time until new Missiles get introduced

Do you really think Gaijin will model any difference between Mk 0 and Mk 2?

The only difference I can see them modelling between the ECRS radars is maybe the German one having worse gimbal limits.

A straightforward answer: the Pakistan Air Force is equipped with AIM-120C-5 missiles.
