What is it with you hating on Britain recently?
No Not you Spanish, i thought you of all people would have love the introduction of these…
Of course the BR spread would need to be done! to prevent what your describing :)
Imho, they should split the TT at that point so they don’t go against each other in battle, its like F-14 going against Zeros’ lol Cough The Final Countdown Cough Cough.
Ah, yes! If they are completely and really separate, then I think it could be lovely.
I wonder how they would make missile controls to be entertaining so matches don’t consist of just spawning in, clicking to launch missiles, getting kills and dying, though!
Unfortunately, seeing Ground WW2 BRs invaded by ATGMs, modern HE slinging SPGs and HEATFS makes me feel rather pessimistic about it.
Britain, as part of the Commonwealth, naturally has a larger share of vehicles within its market, and that fact alone gives it a stronger presence. While I agree that other nations should receive greater investment and resources, it’s important to consider the situation from a business perspective.
If the majority of revenue is concentrated in the top three or four nations, companies will inevitably prioritize those markets first. This ensures a steady flow of income to sustain sales, pay staff and shareholders, and support the next 12 months of internal plans and roadmaps.
Additionally, this approach isn’t just about immediate profit, it’s about long-term stability. By focusing on the strongest markets, businesses can secure the financial foundation needed to expand into emerging regions later.
It may feel unbalanced in the short term, but from a strategic standpoint, prioritizing high-value nations is what enables growth, innovation, and eventually broader accessibility across the Commonwealth and beyond.
Tbh I’m half expecting gajin to add ents that randomly detonate nearby vehicles for the laughs
i dont think they should be completely seperate.
To begin with, the map size would need to be expanded significantly, at least tenfold to properly accommodate the scale and complexity of modern engagements. This enlarged environment would allow for deeper strategic play, particularly when focusing on new mechanics surrounding missile deployment and advanced counter-countermeasures (ECCM/CCM) - Which more of a modern Surface platform has, in its arsenal.
By introducing these systems, the gameplay naturally evolves to highlight the importance of naval aircraft and helicopter operations, bringing them to the forefront as critical assets (Anti Ship missiles, Missile Launched Torpedoes etc)
Such an expansion not only enhances the tactical depth but also opens the door to integrating layered defense networks, long-range strike capabilities, and electronic warfare scenarios. (like AWACS / Growlers and ASW tactics)
Mig29m is a sidegrade as its more of a a2a focused version of the smt. The mig 35 is 100% not a sidgrade. 1. it would actually get a targeting pod. 2. It would/should get access to better missiles, like r77-1, and kh38. and those are just the ones we have in game, there’s obviously better fox 2’s that are compatible with the Mig35. 3. It would get a PESA/AESA radar depending on what the snail decides on going with. The mig35 is just a much newer airframe than the 29smt, and as a result its got better weapons and avionics across the board. Though it probably wouldn’t fly any better than the smt, probably worse due to being heavier with the same engines.
Bismarck should be one-hit killed by a fire-and-forget from a frigate that’s practically impossible to hit by Battleship main guns…?
nothing short of a nuclear AShM is going to one tap a BB
That’s going to depend on crew training more than anything.
I honestly can’t see a way for Gaijin to implement these vessels without it turning into a complete mess. For example, I can take the Pr. 206, the Pr. 121422 (if I’ve got that designation right), and the SKR-1/7 into matches and consistently rack up anywhere from 12 to 18 kills.
That’s with ships that aren’t even particularly modern, if I’m not mistaken, we’re talking about technology from the 1950s to 1960s. Please correct me if I’m wrong on the era, but it really shows how overwhelming these ships can be compared to the rest of the lineup.
Can’t wait :)
All of that sounds very complicated when it comes to concept, but… what would the “gunplay” be like?
Like, wouldn’t missiles just act like self-homing fire-and-forget ones? So basically, lock, click, and get a kill unless countermeasures were deployed?
I legitimately don’t see the problem there
HE slingers and HEAT existed at WW2 BRs for ages and the earliest ATGMs are at 6.7, which is within the WW2/Cold War transition range
I am less concerned about Tomahawk and Exocet and more concerned about the larger soviet AShMs
I think early, on they should be wire guided, or counter- balanced with “amount that can be carried” if they are too OP, but much like planes and helicopters they should be fire and forget in the end, its down to the Radar and Sonar use / EECM of the defending player and we need that kind of progressive mechanic in the game.
Sea Power demonstrates an impressive balance between aggressive and defensive use of its weapon systems. The way this is showcased during gameplay feels both authentic and engaging, giving players a real sense of tactical depth.
If future War Thunder Patches manage to capture this same level of strategic execution, , it’s exactly the kind of immersive design I look forward to experiencing.
With current ASM implementation. I agree. Though if they were to become a main stay weapon, they might make them more potent.
But yes, at the moment, FnF weapons with a random chance of maybe hitting something vital are way less scary than the SACLOS ones that can be aimed precisely to hit weak spots. I’ve seen a Bravy or Douglas (I cant recall which now) one shot a Graf Spee before. So it would have to be a big warhead to be scary with a random hits
“It was always like this” (not to the same degree even remotely) doesn’t make it better for me to see Tiger IIs and IS-2s going into battle along PzH-2000s and 2S19M2s, hahahah.
Vehicles from the 1940s riding into battle along vehicles from the 2020s… it just…
The situation should have been improving, instead, it has been getting worse and worse.
The PzH-2000 is at 7.7 and the 2S19M2 is at 7.3, those are not WW2 BRs
