Anything past like 4.7 is pure agony 90% of the time. We play this game for the 10% of good matches.
Is the HYDEF still intended to have an IR seeker?

Likely, its still an iris-t
But they all work with datalink (exception iris-t sls block1)
It would get radar guidance the whole way and then overlay ir and radar to hit the target
