looks like the earliest 120C i can find record of a sale for is C-7. but i dont see why 120C-5 wouldnt work on the F-15
On top of that the AAM-4B is kinematically exactly the same as the base version, only the seeker changed
i mean ig if they really want a 14.3 it could work. but i dont really see a pressing need for it in the future since like you said only the seeker is better, it would be outclassed in kinematics
Then I would argue it makes the most sense as the next incremental step up in missile addition without disrupting balance of the game too much?
I mean from what I heard back when Fox-3s were added, both the Pl-12 and AAM-4 are kinematically underperforming
id argue the Chinese have a greater need for a missile between the PL-12 and even the PL-15E
There are requests for AIM-120D-3, besides existing AIM-120C-5s (maybe even C-7s) in stocks.
However (for gameplay), I would not add any more advanced missiles to the F-15J(M), it simply wouldn’t be able to keep up at 14.0+. The F-15JSI (if that ever becomes a thing) would be more fitting - until then, even Thailand cannot offer any fighter aircraft that would be better than the F-2A at the moment, besides Japans own F-35As (IRL) obviously.
ive also heard the AAM-4 was limited to 25g
Yeah, the Pre-Fox3 discussions always made it sound like those would be Aim-120C5 equivalents and there was speculation whether they might skip Aim-120A/B initially. Instead they went with an entirely different option, but whether they would change anything is unknown (Even AMRAAM has 18 month old reports yet to be fixed with really solid documentation) or what they would do to the 13.0 PL-12 users
I do wonder if Gaijin will set a new prescedent and give Japan Thai Gripen Es. Its not a situation that I think we’ve encountered yet and we have no idea what Gaijins official stance is (unless ive missed an official statement somewhere)
if they added PL-12A this wouldnt be a problem, which is part of why i think PL-12A should be added next
When in doubt, Indonesia has Rafale to offer xD
considering Indonesia actually becomes a Sub-Nation, idk
Or Singaporean F-15s :P
singapore doesnt operate SA’s
Woops. Got the wrong F-15. Too many F-15 variants to remember.
I think the only way japan can get a 14.0/14.3 aircraft is via either Malaysia or Indonesia with the latter being more likely as they have a presence in the japanese tree already.
only about a dozen combat ones right now
Those are for China clearly…
That is still like. 10 more than really needed :D
Well… commonwealth nation… and Gaijin does seem interested in making Britain the one stop shop for every top tier aircraft…
So you never know
