Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion

Think it’ll get dropped or that it’ll bevome a new mainstream vehicle for the UK given its price?

If you hate C&P that much then you have some strange music taste

What do you mean?

Does music have as repeating percussion ?

There is a balancing act.

Every possible minor variant gets old fast. But adding a single version (maybe 2) of a vehicle, despite multiple variants with notable difference available can suck just as much. Especially if they can operate at a range of BRs

Like for example, I still want the Mosquitto Mk16? (bomber variant), Jaguar GR3A, Harrier GR9A, Sea-Vixen FAW1. etc etc. Even something like the Tornado EF3 could be quite interesting. In the future. Id quite like a few Hawk Variants scattered about between 9.0 and 11.3 (maybe even higher, but im on the fence)

There aren’t that many G.91s in the game, plus Gina and Yankee are 2 completely different planes.
I would vice versa like to see G.91R/3 for Italy.

Or this one Portuguese R/3 with sidewinders could be a great squadron vehicle for Italy.

It won’t get dropped, the contract was a fixed price contract, so GD basically has to do all the remedial work for free. We’ve got a few hundred of them already, and from what I hear it’s pretty solid these days. Defiantly not the best LT in the world (IMO I would have put the CTA40 onto one of the low profile Stormer chassis), but it’s got it’s gimmicks, especially if GD manage to squeeze in some of their newer developments (e.g. the new gun mounting that can elevate 80 something degrees up from Blackjax) into the main fleet. GD are also suggesting a lengthened Ajax as an IFV, (Yes that’s IFV to light tank then back to IFV again), which might actually get adopted, (and would be very nice for WT, as it actually gets an integrated ATGM)

Yeah what’s he is describing there is a percussion issue, sure only listening to drums by themselves can be boring and repetitive like C&P. But if you add other melodies like say the unique string then both can work in harmony with each other. C&P mixed in with a bit of uniqueness can create a wonderful line up.

Takes the lengthened IFV version and adds a main gun (like 105mm) to it making it into a light tank :P

Wouldn’t have to, ASCOD can already take up to a 120mm

Yeah. Though at the same time. Grinding through a dozen like for like vehicles does get quite dry. Especially when they add a minor variant instead of something wholey new.

like I said, needs to be a balancing act.

this is so depressing as all of those british additions are things I actually want :(

its a mix of the MoD constantly changing the requirements of the programme and reliability issues from what I know

Ajax isn’t an IFV FYI
Currently we don’t really have one? The original plan was to upgun Warrior to the CTA40, but fundamentally that programme had issues, so was dropped with the intent of opening a new IFV tender, they just haven’t got round to it as they’re wanting to get this current set of procurements done and do some procedural changes before they open a new tender. Hasn’t stopped GD and such creating options e.g. GD’s lengthend Ajax with a new LMUK CTA40 + ATGM turret.

GD's recently announced Ajax IFV
