I worked in my spare time and now I have time spare at work that I can’t use to game because the master Seargent keeps walking around the hallway checking up on us
this is why I’m now looking into the J-35J which keeps looking more and more realistic as an addition for this major
This is just the purgatory stage of the update cycle, a bit of news last week but now nothing. I’m guessing we will be waiting until the end of the week for some more news.
They still wont be competitive though and that to me is the main issue the Russian, Chinese and US mains will have.
A Typhoon and Rafale are still superior to an F-15EX in terms of flight performance alone.
But then the F-22 just destroys top tier balance, the US is in a really difficult spot.
I think it would be more likely for the F/A-18D to be foldered with the C. It would be pretty much identical except for being heavier leading to a worse flight performance.
Another option for that line would be an upgraded AV-8B+ with AIM-9X and AIM-120C and possibly HMD. (I remember seeing something about HMD being ordered for the AV-8B+ that was set to keep them in service until 2029 but not sure if that ever got finished since they are now planned to be retired in 2027).
Stealth is genuinely going to be much weaker than people expect it to be.
Unless you’re at the perfect angle compared to others most 4+ gen aircraft with modern AESA’s are still going to pick you up from 30-40+km away, and since we’ll probably see the introduction of next gen IR missiles aswell it really makes no difference.
not to mention modern IRST systems
Seeing how Gaijin model ARHM seekers (a one size fits all) I expect Stealth to be near immune to them at longer ranges and that would be the edge Stealth gives 120s shots at above 20km would just fail.
the addition of AiM-4 and AiM-26 and the theoretical possibility of submarines just got me as excited for this major as haven’t been for a year at least
