Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion

It’s alright we just pay for our international friends to do it harder for you : P

I do not consider that worth the sacrifice, under any circumstances.
I’ll take the whiners over government surveillance any day of the year.
(Instead, maybe parents should be held responsible for their lack of parenting!)

It’s like that farmer in father Ted scene lol

I swear the day I get ID’d for War Thunder is the day I quit.

Arguably already should lmao, don’t forget It’s also supposed to “prevent” “bullying, hateful content and content which encourages dangerous stunts or ingesting dangerous substances” and “illegal content”. Considering the game chat regularly contain slurs and “bullying content”, and the forums do illegally leak documents on occasion. An argument could be made that technically WT doesn’t comply with the OSA.
But well, the OSA was written by idiots as far as I can tell, who don’t realise what they’ve actually written, and are too busy screeching about protecting children.

I’m surprised war thunder hasn’t been hit yet though in cannon there is no death.

Actually that’s something I’ve been wondering about since this whole mess started.

@Smin1080p_WT Does Gaijin currently plan on doing anything regarding the Online Safety Act? Like implementing ID verification like some other games such as Rockstar with GTA Online are now requiring?

Well for UK peeps I guess it’s easier just to turn off in game chat for us

Given that it’s becoming a requirement just to even have accounts on some platforms I’m not entirely sure that disabling chat will circumvent OSA or the need for ID verification.

The game’s rating is not mature, so I guess they are exempt from it.

That’s a point it’s 12+ isn’t it ?

Don’t forget the fact that the US is also adding these regulations.

The game’s age rating is 13+, the same as Spotify but they are deleting accounts that do not comply. And from the talks about OSA it seems that every online game/platform will be required to have it from now on.

But then you’ll need ID for GTA but iirc Fortnight doesn’t need ID but both are shooting games ??

I think it’s just that Fortnite hasn’t responded yet and Rockstar (like always) are eager to start collecting personal data to inevitably have it all leaked from any of the countless hacks from their services. Same with Microsoft with Xbox and possibly soon to be Sony.
