The Mobile Infantry soldiers couldn’t really deal with the 7.62mms, so I don’t expect soldiers with much less armor and no face protection to be able to

IRL most buildings offer very little in the way of protection from .30 cal rounds
Well, did you play the Mobile Infantry event? If it’s anything like that there won’t be much in terms of buildings to take cover in or other stuff able to withstand even 7.62mm MGs

What about all the wrecked/abandoned cars? Engine blocks can take most 7.62 iirc, but .50 cal AP can go through them
This isn’t Mobile Infantry btw, if u watched trailer you would have seen infantry clearing out rooms, and many buildings along the road in the first bit
You aren’t expecting Battlefield-like gameplay, are you?
Again, if it’s anything like Mobile Infantry then there won’t be much of that room clearing stuff because WT maps rarely have buildings with actual interiors.
To be completely honest, I don’t expect the infantry to work like it did back in the Mobile Infantry event anyways. Soldiers probably won’t be “vehicles”, but rather either AI targets or pseudo RTS units. With the Mobile Infantry event you at least had soldiers that could carry multiple heavy weapons while also being mobile and armored.
Also, we are yet to see if the ingame event will even be anywhere close to the trailer, considering that the event description is talking about WW1, while the trailer shows modern day vehicles and CoD-like gameplay

Depends on the ammo they give them.
Depends how realistic they make shotguns.

True, they were trying map destruction very early on, but kept it out due to performance stuff. Maybe they are gonna try to see if the engine and servers could handle that now.

Yeah.
There actually have been “minor updates” in the past, and it’s a pretty appropriate title considering the amount of content that comes to the game as part of the April Fools events.
I’ll update my Current Rumors post when we have an idea about what the event could be testing.
