I agree, but as you said, the tornado in it’s best state wouldn’t have good odds against the F-16 and MiG-29. It was basically an upgraded phantom. To this day I think the best way to integrate AMRAAM would be to add them in limited quantity on the trash airframes (F-4F ICE, Tornados, Harriers, F-20/Bison to limit their effectiveness and also iron out the kinks they have before release. In typical Gaijin fashion, this was not the case and the borderline ruined the game. Before this era, it unfortunately was just tough luck for Britain.
This is true. The only plausible thing Britain could’ve gotten would be the BAC P.110 variants. Of course, they didn’t pursue them though, so they couldn’t be added. Overall it all roots down to Gaijin adding capability the game can’t handle. We needed different gamemodes for planes like the tornado to be more viable.
Yes, however the platform those weapons where mounted on wasn’t great. The main reason why US can be so dominate is because of the pure quantity of vehicles they make for every niche. Adversary has great AoA fighter jets? Hornet. Super fast interceptor? The Tomcat has been there before they were a blueprint. An AA covered deathtrap? An F-16 can outpull the missiles with bombs attached. Need that all in one package? The F-15 is probably best bang for buck. US just has too much stuff. The Cold War did a lot for our military.
I do think the ASRAAM + AMRAAM loadout will be added, but at that time, it just wasn’t feasible to add. There are too many crybabies in the game. But yes I agree with you that in the direction the game was going, Britain needed the EFT. It’s just that the whole of the game got worse because of it. It was just too much powercreep. This era we are in now needs to be a brick wall in capability until they fix the game, because we’ve already smashed through the last 2.
Again, not entirely additions like the Harrier GR9A would have been better than the nothing we got. Harrier Gr7 can quite happily fight F-16s, so now imagine a Harrier Gr7 with a better engine, more weapons and a HMS.
We have ASB, but Gaijin increased the BR of the Tornado F3 in ASB so that it was perma-uptiered even though if anything it was weaker in ASB than it was in ARB.
They dont have a counter for the Typhoon in WVR though.
They never built a Delta-Canard Fighter.
Of course not and it shouldnt have been. But would Tornado F3 with Aim-9M and Skyflash SuperTEMPS + properly modeled BOL + all the other issues the F3 had and still has being fixed vs F-16/Mig-29 (especially when they got IRCCM) been asking for too much?
Let alone just making Britain the king of Mud moving by actually making the Tornado Gr1 good (its still artificially nerfed to be the weakest for “reasons”) and other additions like the Hawk, Jaguar GR3A, Harrier GR9A, etc.
Even the Tornado Gr4 and Buc S2B could have come much much earlier than they actually did. (ive been having a blast playing the Tornado Gr4 even in ARB at the moment, even in uptiers, that would have been excellent fun to get 2 years ago.)
The Biggest issue in that year wasn’t necessarily that Britain didnt have a top tier fighter. It was that we got basically nothing. The aircraft we did get were a buggy mess and then we had 3 updates straight with nothing at all.
I look forward to the CV-90 FRES though it’s basically guaranteed to be an event. AJAX as shockingly poor as it is, will simply be a downgrade over the CV9040 in all but the gun. CV-90 FRES however would be on-par/better.
Unfortunately gaijin will add the in service waste of funding as its in service, but FRES makes a great event vehicle. Both fulfill the same purpose at the same br, but FRES is better both irl and in-game.
So, now the US has a top tier aircraft with 10x AMRAAM.
The Typhoon needs to be buffed. We only have 6x AMRAAM and a weaker radar. Time to give the Typhoon ASRAAM and Aim-120C5s so that it can compete along with CAPTOR-E
It’s just that, unfortunately, we’ve got nothing to discuss.
In the past, the goal of leaks was to provide as much information as possible, as early as possible;
However, for the several last updates, leaks appear to have become a mere extension of official dev blogs; they start practically on par with the dev blog season in tiny and censored bits, and we only get the actual lists just shortly before the dev server starts anyway.
So… it isn’t what it used to be, hahah. I don’t know what made leakers change their modus operandi, but I miss the good old times where leaks would practically reveal major updates a full month before their release xD.
Even then, Im not sure why the US needed anything stronger than the F-16C. 2+4 was fairly average except for the much weaker aircraft like the ICE and F3 which had 4+4
