ok
Yes, top SPAA are especially important for Israel
Thoy shall be sentenced to another year of Chaparral.
I usually play the Macbeth, at least you can lead the missiles.
They sort of have to, cause it is ‘data link’ so essentially the same as ARH RN, but replace it with IR seeker. I think this is a good chance to test out an initial ‘LOAL’ option, nothing crazy, not auto lock, just data link.
The 10A missile is supposed to have a ARH/IR seeker.
And yes, DL is in this case what takes part in the LOAL, however no SAM in game has LOAL as of right now.
Having limited LOAL like this may be what puts these new AAs above what we currently have. Without it, they would have inferior range and wouldn’t fix the CAS problem.
My knowledge on missiles is quite bad, would IR missiles be able to lock on air targets with IRCM? Last time I tried to kill a Ka-50, the missile wouldn’t lock and I was 3 kilometers away. Good thing about IR missiles and such is that they’re fire and forget, but you are not getting a helicopter with ARH missiles (as they are usually low) or IR missiles if they have IRCM unless the seekers are better or something.
IRIS-T will still be limited. But what that one need is search radar TWS.
Lock ranges on helis have always been comically short.
IRIS-T SLMs should have more than enough range with LOAL. We just to see if they’re being added or just SLSs.
Here, for those discussing the Type 625:
- As seen in the Community Update No. 6 post:
- Production-variant Type 625 (CS/SA-5) mirror mount. This vehicle features a 25mm Gatling Gun, 4x HN-6B or FN-16 anti-air missiles, and a high-performance RADAR w/ IFF.
- Export-variant Type 625E mirror mount. This vehicle features a 25mm Gatling Gun in this image (or 30mm Gatling Gun as an option which is seen at the 2022 Airshow), 8x FB10A anti-air missiles, and high-performance RADAR w/ IFF.
- We’re definitely getting the Type 625E but I do hope to see both since the Type 625 itself is utilized by the PLA. It is worth nothing that the base Type 625 has also been seen in desert digital camouflage.
- There is always the option it could be the base Type 625 and Gaijin accidentally messes it up and mixes the physical appearances of the two vehicles together which will require a bug report during the Devserver release.
There are multiple types of seekers. IRCM of KA-50 will not be effective against for example IRIS-T. IRIS-T has a IIR seeker, while KA-50 jammer works against spin scan, and (im not sure here) rosette seekers.
Doubt we will get SLM. It has ~40km range, and that would be a free kill the moment plane spawns.
This also would be a good start. This is not total LOAL, you still have to guide it, it’s in of it self a mini ARH launcher, which would be like some of the AMRAAM launchers, but just more ‘stealth’. Also obviously they will have MAWS, so not even like before MAWS were implemented. 8km lock is also much lower than 18 of ARH as well.
Ahhh, that’s good to know. SACLOS guided missiles were at an advantage when it came to downing these helicopters.
It still affects them but to a less extent. Also they just tend to start popping flares once they see anything.
I also don’t think it’ll come, however we’ll just have to wait and see.
Well sometimes Ka50 could just kill you by hiding behind hill, move out of cover, fire missile and Vikhrs could kill u before ur missile kills them. 600m/s is not much slower than the likes of Tor. Also they could keep firing, Vikhrs have proxy fuse, so easily intercepts your missile, nvm if u only get 8/6 and they get 12.
I hope they give it the 25mm AHEAD rounds, plaint HE may not be ideal against incoming bombs and missiles. It will probably be at a higher BR that Type 81 (C) anyway, considering they add FB-10A with ~17km interception range.
